Full Job Description Position Summary:
The Associate Director of Development & Engagement serves as the operational leader of the Development Department. Working closely with the Director of Development, this position translates fundraising goals into actionable plans, maintains active stewardship of mid-level donors, and ensures that donor cultivation initiatives support revenue generation and organizational priorities. This position oversees the organization's annual giving efforts, donor stewardship, corporate partnerships, sponsorships, fundraising campaigns as well as volunteer and community engagement activities while providing direct leadership to the Marketing & Communications Manager.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Department Operations & Leadership Serve as the operational leader of the Development Department, ensuring fundraising initiatives are effectively planned, implemented, and evaluated. Collaborate with the Director of Development to establish annual fundraising goals, departmental priorities, and performance metrics. Oversee donation tracking and processing including check log and lockbox Support the Director of Development and Marketing & Communications Manager in planning campaign timelines and setting project priorities. Collaborate with Donor Engagement and Special Event Lead on House of Ruth Maryland's signature fundraising events, ensuring they meet revenue, sponsorship, and donor engagement goals. Annual Giving & Donor Engagement Manage a portfolio of mid-level individual and corporate donors, cultivating relationships that increase donor retention, giving, and long-term engagement. In conjunction with the Development Director, develop and implement comprehensive stewardship strategies that enhance the donor experience and strengthen relationships across all giving levels. Partner with the Director of Development on strategies to identify and transition qualified donors into the major gifts pipeline. Collaborate with Donor Engagement and Special Event Lead on House of Ruth Maryland's signature fundraising events, ensuring they meet revenue, sponsorship, and donor engagement goals. Monitor fundraising performance and recommend strategies to improve donor acquisition, retention, and revenue growth. Utilize donor database to improve communication and stewardship of the donor portfolio Corporate Partnerships & Community Engagement Lead the cultivation and stewardship of corporate sponsors, community partners, and workplace giving programs. Expand opportunities for corporate volunteerism, sponsorships, employee engagement, and community partnerships. Support third-party fundraising initiatives, ensuring events and partnerships align with organizational standards and revenue goals. Identify opportunities to increase House of Ruth Maryland's visibility and community engagement throughout the region. Performance Measurement In collaboration with the

Review fundraising dashboards and performance reports. Monitor campaign performance, donor trends, and key fundraising metrics. Recommend data-informed strategies to improve fundraising effectiveness. Success Measures Success in this position will be measured by: Growth in annual giving revenue and donor retention. Increased corporate sponsorships and community partnerships. Successful execution of integrated fundraising campaigns. Strong collaboration between Development and Marketing. Timely completion of departmental initiatives. Increased donor engagement across all fundraising channels. Achievement of departmental fundraising goals and performance metrics. Experience, Education, Certifications/Licenses Bachelor's degree in Nonprofit Management, Communications, Marketing, Business Administration, Public Relations, or a related field. Minimum of five (5) years of progressive nonprofit fundraising or development experience. Demonstrated success managing annual giving programs, donor stewardship, and fundraising campaigns. Previous supervisory or team leadership experience preferred. Strong understanding of fundraising best practices, donor cultivation, and nonprofit marketing. Excellent project management, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Experience collaborating across departments and managing multiple priorities simultaneously. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency with fundraising CRM systems such as Raiser's Edge NXT and Microsoft Office Suite.
