The Development Associate will be responsible for coordinating fundraising campaigns, managing donor databases, and assisting with event planning and outreach activities. Duties Plan, organize, and execute fundraising events that align with organizational goals, ensuring seamless logistics and impactful engagement. Manage and update donor databases using CRM software to ensure accurate data collection and relationship management. Develop compelling proposals and grant applications to secure funding from foundations, corporations, and individual donors. Oversee email marketing campaigns utilizing platforms like Constant Contact or Mailchimp to promote events, solicit donations, and share organizational updates. Coordinate digital marketing efforts across social media platforms and WordPress websites to enhance visibility and community engagement. Cultivate relationships with donors, volunteers, partners, and community stakeholders through strategic communication and personalized outreach. Assist in budgeting for fundraising events and campaigns while tracking expenses to maximize resource allocation. Support public relations initiatives by preparing press releases, managing media contacts, and maintaining positive community presence. Conduct research on potential funding opportunities, industry trends, and best practices in nonprofit development. Collaborate with team members on volunteer management efforts and estate planning initiatives such as wills or trusts related to charitable giving. Experience Proven experience in event planning, fundraising, or nonprofit development roles with a focus on relationship management. Strong familiarity with CRM software including Salesforce or Raiser's Edge; experience with Mailchimp or Constant Contact is highly desirable. Demonstrated ability in proposal writing, grant proposal development, and digital marketing strategies. Knowledge of social media management tools like Square Space for website content updates and engagement campaigns. Excellent research skills combined with strategic planning capabilities to identify new funding sources and partnership opportunities. Experience working within a university or nonprofit environment is preferred; Effective negotiation skills paired with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
