We empower youth to learn, connect, share & grow after a death through trauma-informed group settings including camps, school groups, family workshops, & community ceremonies. Why Join Us? As our Development Director, you'll work closely with leadership in a nimble, entrepreneurial atmosphere where your strategic ideas & contributions directly transform into real-world support for grieving families. Opportunity & Impact In this role, you will lead the evolution of our fundraising infrastructure to power our next chapter of community growth. Working in close collaboration with the Executive Director, you will help design and execute a comprehensive development strategy to ensure long-term sustainability. You will thrive based on attention to detail as well as a thorough understanding of the big picture. You'll be a great fit if you are self-driven to work independently while being coachable & committed to collaboration with teammates. After thorough orientation & training, success will mean expanding our donor pipeline, elevating our local visibility, and building reliable revenue streams—ensuring no child or family faces grief alone. Key Responsibilities & Outcomes Strategic Planning & Management
  • Design & execute a sustainable development plan to scale funding; manage the fundraising budget, and track KPIs to grow donor retention & overall revenue. Donor Cultivation & Stewardship
  • Identify, nurture & steward relationships with major donors & corporate partners; implement creative recognition strategies to expand ongoing engagement. Annual Campaign
  • Develop & implement all aspects of 5-6 multi-channel solicitations across digital & print channels to organically grow our core individual donor base; process donations & produce thank you letters. Marketing & Communications
  • Develop & publish newsletters (2-3/year,) an annual Impact Report, and social media messaging to amplify our brand & broaden local awareness. Board Leadership & Collaboration
  • Collaborate with Executive Director and a Development Committee to foster a culture of philanthropy that fully engages board members, staff, & community stakeholders. Events & Outreach
  • Plan & lead meaningful fundraising & stewardship events that attract & connect community supporters to our mission.
Compensation & Perks Salary Range:
Starting around $70,000 with bonus potential
Role Type:
Full-time, Exempt (reports to Executive Director)
Work Environment:

Qualifications & Experiences Essentials:
  • 5+ years of professional experience
  • Non-profit fundraising experience running campaigns, building relationships, and securing major gifts with attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, prioritize & meet deadlines, manage ambiguity, & drive to results
  • Comfort talking about death, grief, & difficult issues
  • Tech-savvy with ability to learn new software
  • Willingness to work a limited number of pre-scheduled evenings & weekends
Preferred/Ideal:
  • Bachelor's Degree
