CHILDREN'S CENTER OF SOUTHWEST MISSOURI JOB DESCRIPTION
Development Manager Reports to: Executive Director Position Summary Under the supervision of the Executive Director, the Development Manager coordinates the Center's fundraising, donor relations, fundraising events, and day-to-day marketing and communications efforts. The position works collaboratively with staff, Board members, volunteers, donors, sponsors and community partners to build support for the mission of Children's Center. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Development & Fundraising Work with the Executive Director to develop and implement the annual Development Plan and fundraising goals. Cultivate relationships with donors, sponsors and community partners and identify opportunities to grow financial support. Coordinate donor stewardship, sponsorships, recurring giving and other fundraising campaigns. Assist with identifying funding opportunities and preparing grant proposals as needed. Fundraising Events Plan and coordinate fundraising events in collaboration with the Executive Director, committees and volunteers. Manage event budgets, timelines, sponsorships, auctions, vendors, volunteers and other event needs. Ensure timely follow-up and evaluation of fundraising results. Marketing & Communications Manage day-to-day social media, fundraising communications and promotional activities in collaboration with the Executive Director. Create and coordinate content that increases awareness of the Center's mission, services, fundraising opportunities and events. Maintain consistent, professional messaging across the Center's communication platforms. Development Administration Maintain accurate donor, sponsor, volunteer and fundraising records. Track gifts, sponsorships, fundraising revenue and expenses and coordinate appropriate invoicing and acknowledgments. Provide regular development and fundraising updates and reports to the Executive Director. Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Strong communication, relationship-building and organizational skills. Self-motivated with excellent follow-through and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. Creative, collaborative and able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Professional and comfortable interacting with donors, sponsors, volunteers and community partners. Strong written communication and technology skills, with the ability to learn and effectively use development, marketing and fundraising platforms. Position Requirements Bachelor's degree in marketing, public relations, communications, nonprofit management, business or a related field preferred; equivalent relevant education and experience may be considered. Three or more years of relevant professional experience in fundraising, development, sales, marketing, communications or event planning preferred. Proficiency with Microsoft 365 and comfort using social media, donor, event, design and online fundraising platforms. Some travel is required. Must be available to work occasional evenings and weekends for fundraising events and organizational needs. Full-time position based at the Joplin location with flexibility in scheduling based on organizational and event needs.

$60,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
