At the Bill of Rights Institute, you'll find not just a job, but a community of passionate professionals shaping the future of civic understanding. To succeed as the Director of Development, you should have: Proven experience securing major gifts, grants, or corporate philanthropy support through donor cultivation and relationship management. Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders. Self-starter with excellent organizational, time management, and collaboration skills. Proficiency with CRM and collaboration tools such as Salesforce, Monday.com, and Microsoft Teams. Experienced fundraising professional with a results-driven approach and the ability to attract new investors. Although this is a hybrid role, it is not a remote position so must be commuting distance of Arlington, VA. Your responsibilities as the Director of Development will include: Identify, cultivate, and secure funding from individual donors, foundations, and corporate partners. Build and maintain a diverse network of donors, sponsors, and strategic partners aligned with the organization's mission. Collaborate with the fundraising team and internal partners to develop and execute donor engagement strategies. Manage donor communications, track fundraising activities, and provide timely updates using Salesforce and other tools. Leverage the organization's reputation to expand philanthropic investment and achieve fundraising goals.
