Our comprehensive programs span early childhood education, adult habilitation, residential services, and community-based support, serving over one thousand individuals across multiple locations. Job Overview The Director of Development at ACDS is an exciting opportunity, at a pivotal moment in the Agency's history, for an energetic and creative fundraising professional to build a robust donor pipeline and to execute all other facets of a well-rounded development strategy. The Director of Development will bring an array of fundraising competencies to advance the mission, vision, and values of ACDS. The Director of Development will be a creative leader with passion for the agency's mission - providing lifetime resources of exceptional quality, innovation and inclusion for individuals with Down syndrome and other developmental disabilities and their families. The ideal candidate will have experience with developing and stewarding multiple revenue streams, working independently and with a team, and representing the agency at public-facing events. Reporting to Chief Operating Officer, the Director of Development will: Work in partnership with agency stakeholders to advance key development strategies and meet or exceed annual fundraising goals. Proactively create and implement strategies for the prospecting, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of individual giving at all levels. Ability to represent the agency publicly at affinity events. Ability to work in concert with high level board of directors on stewardship and individual giving plans. Oversee a development manager in planning and execution of existing agency events and help to create new event opportunities that energize and connect with donors. Oversee the production of all development collateral, including solicitation materials and annual reports. Craft and execute a robust year-end annual appeal. Maintain a robust external meeting schedule in support of regional donor cultivation. Travel as needed between agency locations in Westchester and on Long Island. Partner with the CEO, COO and CFO to develop annual projections and budget for the Individual Giving portfolio. Be provided the opportunity to develop, grow and shape the newly established ACDS Foundation. Requirements Applicants must possess a bachelor's degree, plus a minimum of five to seven years of progressively demonstrated development expertise. Personal or professional connections in the intellectual and developmental disability, human services or related field is a plus. Candidates should have a well-rounded knowledge and proven track record in major and individual gifts, institutional support, and special events. Possess written and verbal communication skills with a demonstrated capacity to build consensus and community. Experience navigating between an operating agency and a Foundation structure, and their attendant boards, highly preferred. Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite of products along with development CRM systems and software (Bonterra Network for Good). Experience with and knowledge of the New York donor community and latest fundraising trends will be viewed favorably. Experience with capital campaigns a plus.

Pay:
$120,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year
