Director of Philanthropy Location:
Oxnard, California City Impact is entering an exciting new chapter in its long history of serving the community. This is more than a traditional fundraising role. As Director of Philanthropy, you will lead fundraising efforts for a respected, established nonprofit while helping launch an innovative tiny-home initiative designed to provide housing for women and children. Essential ResponsibilitiesFund Development
  • Lead all fundraising, donor communications, and social media efforts through the execution of a comprehensive annual development plan supporting both City Impact and the future tiny-home initiative.
  • Develop and implement strategies to strengthen and expand the existing donor base while cultivating new donors and funding sources for groundbreaking project.
  • Build and maintain relationships with corporations, foundations, grantmakers, individual donors, and community partners.
  • Research, identify, and cultivate major donor prospects to generate long-term philanthropic support.
  • Identify grant opportunities; collaborate with staff to prioritize funders and lead grant proposal development and submission.
  • Partner with the CEO to analyze fundraising performance, evaluate outcomes, and develop forward-looking strategies.
  • Prepare fundraising reports and updates for senior leadership and the Board of Directors.
  • Support and coordinate Board development activities in partnership with the CEO.
  • Supervise development staff and external consultants as needed to achieve fundraising goals.
Events Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of fundraising events as part of the annual development strategy. Partner with the CEO and Board to ensure events meet or exceed fundraising objectives. Provide hands-on administrative and operational support for events as needed. Qualifications Education Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Nonprofit Management, or a related field preferred. Experience
  • Minimum of five years of nonprofit fundraising or development experience.
  • Demonstrated success in fundraising strategies involving corporations, foundations, individuals, and major gifts.
  • Strong grant writing and grant management experience required.
  • Proven experience planning and leading successful fundraising events.
  • Experience managing donor relationships and development initiatives. Skills & Other Qualifications
  • Passion for serving "marginally housed " & unhoused and vulnerable populations.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Collaborative, positive, and mission-focused approach.
  • Ability to work effectively in a diverse environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and fundraising software platforms.
  • Experience with "Give Butter" fundraising software is a plus.
Salary Range:
$80,000 to $100,000
Benefits:
City Impact has medical, dental and 403c after 3 months, 10 holidays and 10 days of vacation, after the first year.
