Contractual Position - 24 hours weekly @ $40 per hour (Six- month initial contract; renewal based on performance)
Position Summary:
Communities In Schools of Brunswick County (CIS) seeks a Donor Development Manager to help drive annual giving and sponsorships. The Donor Development Manager will develop and implement a targeted strategy to identify, cultivate, retain, and secure gifts with individuals, corporations, faith-based groups, and community organizations to meet an assigned revenue goal. This relationship-focused role requires a strong public presence, excellent communication, and comfort with public speaking and presentations. Responsible for engaging the public as a proactive fundraiser who enjoys meeting new people, telling compelling stories, and turning relationships into meaningful support for the organization's mission.
Responsibilities:
Fundraising Strategy & Donor Development Establish and implement a systematic strategy to identify, cultivate, solicit, and secure commitments from new and existing donors to meet or exceed assigned revenue goals. Manage a portfolio of prospects and donors, moving them through the donor pipeline. Lead donor engagement efforts to retain, increase, and track annual giving and sponsorship partners. Donor Solicitation & Relationship Management Work independently to conduct face-to-face visits, virtual meetings, and other relationship-building activities to secure sponsorships and gifts. Campaigns, Presentations & Communications Collaboration • Execute assigned solicitation campaigns (mail, email, virtual, website, presentations, etc.) to passionately and effectively articulate Communities In Schools of Brunswick County's mission and impact, tracking solicitation outcome and conducting a cost/ benefit analysis following campaign completion. Represent Communities In Schools of Brunswick County at community events, faith-based gatherings, corporate meetings, and volunteer activities, coordinating representation with the Executive Director to avoid conflicting commitments. Planning and Reporting Provide regular written status reports to Executive Director on progress toward achieving revenue goals. Work within established departmental budget parameters, utilizing resources efficiently and effectively in achieving fundraising objectives. Events & Community Engagement Assist in hosting and supporting events and presentations off-site (including some evenings and weekends). Build strong awareness of the Brunswick County community characteristics, potential donor populations, giving trends, and other factors affecting the local fundraising landscape and strategies. Gain solid knowledge and understanding of the CIS mission, populations served, organizational strengths, impact, needs, and challenges to inform outreach and donor engagement.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in development, fundraising, marketing, or equivalent combination of education and experience. 4+ years of successful fundraising experience, including a proven record of securing gifts/sponsorships or comparable revenue generation. Demonstrated financial management skills (essential budgeting, reporting, analysis, and related work). Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to listen well and engage, inspire, and persuade. Comfortable and confident with public speaking and developing presentations that resonate with different audiences. Strong relationship-building skills for engaging a diverse range of constituents with a commitment to maintaining high-quality donor stewardship. Ability to manage priorities and meet deadlines. High level of professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality. Self-directed, flexible, creative.
Pay:
$40.00 per hour
