Philanthropy Manager / Senior Manager Full-Time | Salaried, Exempt | Salt Lake City, UT | Hybrid | Community Nursing Services (CNS) is Utah's trusted nonprofit home health and hospice provider, serving patients and families across nine locations statewide since 1928. We're looking for a hands-on fundraising leader ready to grow with a small, close-knit philanthropy team. About the Role CNS runs a lean philanthropy function, so this role is equal parts leader and doer - someone who can set strategy and represent CNS in the community, while also being fully willing to roll up their sleeves on the day-to-day work of fundraising. This is a strong fit for a Senior Manager or Director-level fundraising professional at a smaller organization who is looking for a new opportunity and ready to grow into a Director of Philanthropy role - and in time, a VP of Philanthropy role - as CNS's program and team expand. What We're Looking For 3-5 years of experience in nonprofit fundraising, development, or philanthropy. Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a small team environment, balancing strategic leadership with hands-on, individual-contributor work. Experience with donor cultivation, stewardship, and annual giving or annual appeal campaigns. Comfort with grant writing or grant support. Existing network of donors or community relationships in the Salt Lake / Utah area strongly preferred. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including grant writing and donor correspondence. A builder's mindset, with genuine interest in growing into a Director-level role over time.
Compensation & Benefits Salary:
$85,000-$100,000 annually, commensurate with experience and title level (Manager or Senior Manager). Including base and performance incentive. 27

Build, manage, and personally cultivate a portfolio of donor relationships, bringing and growing a network of donors and community connections. Help write grants as needed, bringing grant-writing or development expertise to support CNS's funding pipeline. Coordinate and personally help execute CNS's flagship fundraising event, Art & Soup, along with other fundraising events, from planning through day-of logistics. Support and help grow CNS's employee giving program. Be a hands-on part of the team - willing to jump in on administrative tasks (data entry, mailings, acknowledgment letters, donor correspondence) alongside leadership responsibilities. Track and report on fundraising metrics and progress toward revenue goals. Represent CNS at community events, philanthropic functions, and donor engagements as a mission-driven ambassador for the organization. Growth Path CNS's philanthropy program is growing, and we're building this role with that growth in mind. As fundraising responsibilities and department size expand, this position is intended to progress from Manager or Senior Manager into a Director of Philanthropy role, and eventually a VP of Philanthropy role, with broader strategic and supervisory responsibility. Physical Requirements & Travel Ability to work in a standard office environment, including extended periods of sitting, computer use, and phone/video communication. Occasional local travel required to meet with donors, attend community events, and visit other CNS office locations as needed. Travel is minimal, but this role is not a fully desk-bound position - some time out of the office should be expected.
