Job Description
Position Title Senior Director of Development Who we are: Samaritan Center strengthens the mental, physical, spiritual, and social well-being of individuals and families by providing high-quality, affordable mental health and integrative wellness services for children, adults, and families. For 52 years, we have served Central Texas through counseling, integrative medicine, community partnerships, and education. Our largest program, Hope for Heroes, serves veterans, service members, their families, and first responders. Samaritan Center is seeking a motivated, goal-oriented Senior Director of Development to join our highly respected team in the Austin area. This is a hybrid role, and is a unique opportunity for an experienced development professional with a proven track record to create a brand-new role and lead efforts to strengthen fundraising at Samaritan Center. Responsibilities Donor Cultivation & Stewardship Develop and implement fundraising, event, and gift strategies that support the organization's mission, vision, and goals Maintain the donor portfolio while cultivating new donor relationships, ensuring consistent outreach and stewardship, while building relationships through community events and engagements Event Management & Sponsorship Provide strategic leadership and hands-on management of fundraising events, including the Hope for Heroes Benefit, Samaritan Cup Golf Classic, and other cultivation events, while continuously evaluating event performance and community engagement. Execute and maximize sponsorship strategy, including identifying prospects, creating sponsorship packages, and securing commitments. Development Operations & Leadership Collaborate with executive leadership to develop short- and long-term fundraising strategies and ensure engagement with the Board of Trustees and committees to support the organization's mission, vision, and goals Oversee effective development operations and staff by providing leadership, development, and motivation, and clear strategies for increasing revenue Qualifications Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Marketing, Public Relations, Communications, Business Administration, Nonprofit Management, or related field required CFRE certification preferred Experience Minimum of 5+ years in an equivalent position and experience in professional fundraising, including donor cultivation and event management Minimum of 2 years in a supervisory role required, including managing and developing fundraising teams Demonstrated success securing major gifts and managing donor portfolios Proven track record of leading successful nonprofit fundraising events
