Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking an energetic and strategic Director of Development to join our fundraising and relationship-building initiatives. This pivotal role involves designing and executing comprehensive development strategies that advance our mission, cultivate donor relationships, and secure vital funding. The ideal candidate will have experience in fundraising leadership, donor cultivation and stewardship, volunteer and event leadership, and managing campaigns and grants. As a key leader within our organization, you will inspire teams, foster partnerships, and implement innovative campaigns to maximize our impact and visibility. Duties Fundraising Leadership Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy encompassing annual giving, major gifts, and capital campaigns. Lead fundraising programs including the Annual Fund, special events, planned giving, and legacy programs. Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward donors, foundations, and corporate partners. Partner with ministry and school leaders to align giving opportunities with mission-driven impact stories. Coordinate all fundraising materials, including case statements, campaign brochures, and donor communications. Ensure all fundraising activities align with best practices and legal/ethical standards of charitable giving. Donor Cultivation & Stewardship Build and maintain a portfolio of major donor relationships, managing a full cultivation-to-stewardship process. Equip pastors, staff, and volunteer leaders to engage in donor relations and solicitation efforts. Develop recognition systems that express gratitude and communicate the impact of gifts. Maintain accurate and confidential donor records and provide regular reports to leadership. Oversee gift processing and acknowledgment in collaboration with the finance team. Campaigns & Grants Partner with the Director of Strategic Advancement and Senior Pastor to plan and execute capital and mini-campaigns. Research and pursue grant opportunities in alignment with Trinity's mission and values. Prepare and submit grant proposals in coordination with program staff and finance. Track results and ensure proper reporting to funding organizations. Volunteer & Event Leadership Lead and support volunteer committees that assist in fundraising and donor engagement. Oversee development-related events, including appreciation gatherings, donor receptions, and benefit events. Collaborate with staff to ensure events align with the church and school calendar and mission focus. Collaboration & Integration Partner with the Communications Team to ensure consistent messaging in all donor and advancement materials. Coordinate with the Executive Director of Operations to ensure accurate reporting and budget planning. Serve as a resource to organizational leaders for donor engagement related to their programs. Participate in the planning and execution of strategic initiatives led by the Director of Strategic Advancement. Qualifications Bachelor's degree required; CFRE certification and/or master's degree preferred. Proven experience in nonprofit development or fundraising leadership with a strong track record of securing grants and donations. Expertise in event planning, digital marketing tools, and database management. Exceptional proposal writing skills coupled with negotiation abilities to secure sponsorships and partnerships. Strong knowledge of social media management strategies for nonprofit organizations along with experience in public relations. Ability to analyze data collection efforts for strategic planning purposes; familiarity with research methodologies is a plus. Excellent relationship management skills to engage diverse stakeholders including donors, volunteers, university partners, or community organizations. Demonstrated ability to lead teams effectively while managing multiple projects within budget constraints. Join us as we work passionately toward creating meaningful change! Pay:
$73,000.00 - $76,000.00 per year
