SPECIAL OLYMPICS VIRGINIA
We are hiring! Director of Development Virginia Beach, VA | Full-Time, Exempt PURPOSE To increase awareness and revenue through new partnerships with sponsors, corporate teams, individuals, community service organizations, and Unified Champion Schools.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Build and manage a pipeline of corporate partners - from prospecting through stewardship - cultivating relationships that connect businesses to our mission while generating financial and in-kind support for programs and signature events such as the Virginia Beach Polar Plunge and Fall Championships. Develop, solicit, and cultivate individual donors throughout assigned areas of the state. Collaborate with internal peer-to-peer, marketing, and data subject matter experts to identify highly qualified leads. Work closely with all staff to coordinate a positive partner experience leading up to and during major events to increase team retention and partnership growth. Develop and maintain prospect/partner information in Special Olympics Virginia's CRM (Salesforce). Assist with the planning and execution of communications and outreach strategies to recruit, retain, and engage fundraising teams for the statewide Polar Plunge and other Special Olympics Virginia fundraising initiatives. Serve as staff liaison for the 757 Young Professionals Board (YPB). Support outreach and stewardship of school fundraising efforts in partnership with the UCS team. Assist the MarketingCommunications team to generate content and testimonials. Prepare and manage budgets for assigned events. Attend state-level events and provide support as needed. Frequent meetings and event travel required; some overnights and conferences. Perform other duties as assigned.
