Community Development Specialist Grade 8 Starting Salary $56,700.80 Job duties: Under the supervision of the Director of Governmental Services, the employee administers community development projects, and other projects assigned by the Governmental Services Director. The employee assists in generating grants that meet preliminary candidate organization grant needs and conditions. The employee establishes and maintains grant files; conducts public hearings; prepares environmental assessments; assists organizations with remaining within project budget; and prepares reports to support efficient monitoring of grant programs.

Job requirements:

Possess a bachelor's degree in planning, public administration, community development or a related field from an accredited college or university. Two (2) years of work experience in community development planning or a related field; or any combination of education, training and experience that demonstrates the above listed knowledge, skills, and abilities commensurate with the requirements of this job. Possess a current and valid driver's license. Ability to work nonstandard hours. Ability to travel out of town and locally.
