In Person Position Summary The Development Manager supports Family Promise of Greater Orlando's fundraising, donor engagement, and community awareness efforts through grant writing, development communications, and social media coordination. This position manages the full grant lifecycle while helping maintain a consistent organizational voice across funder communications, donor engagement materials, newsletters, website content, social media platforms, and community outreach efforts. The ideal candidate is an organized, collaborative professional with strong writing skills who enjoys working across multiple aspects of nonprofit development and communications. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Grants & Fundraising Research and identify foundation, corporate, and government grant opportunities aligned with organizational priorities. Manage and maintain the organization's grant calendar, including proposal deadlines, reporting requirements, and submission schedules. Draft and submit letters of inquiry (LOIs), grant proposals, applications, and supporting documentation. Collaborate with program and finance staff to gather data, budgets, outcomes, and impact stories. Ensure proposals meet funder guidelines and compliance requirements. Track grant submissions, awards, reporting requirements, and funder communications, including stewardship and reporting activities. Development Communications Manage communications calendars and develop mission-focused content for newsletters, donor communications, website updates, annual campaigns, press releases, and fundraising initiatives while maintaining a consistent organizational voice. Create compelling stories that highlight program impact, community needs, and organizational achievements. Draft donor acknowledgments and stewardship communications. Assist leadership with presentations, talking points, and board communication materials as needed. Social Media & Digital Engagement Manage social media content calendars and the organization's presence on platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn. Create and schedule engaging content that highlights programs, events, partnerships, and impact stories. Monitor engagement, track performance metrics, and recommend improvements to content strategy. Source stories, photos, and testimonials that support fundraising and community engagement efforts. Collaboration & Support Build strong relationships across the organization to identify impactful stories, program outcomes, and community needs. Coordinate with finance and executive staff to develop grant budgets and track expenditures. Support fundraising events, donor outreach activities, annual campaigns, and other development initiatives. Assist with administrative tasks related to development, communications, and community engagement. Qualifications Required Bachelor's degree in Communications, Nonprofit Management, Public Administration, Marketing, or a related field, or equivalent experience. Minimum of two (2) years of experience in grant writing, communications, fundraising, or nonprofit development. Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills. Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities. Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a small-team environment. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively. Familiarity with grant databases, CRM systems, and basic nonprofit budgeting. Commitment to the mission and values of Family Promise of Greater Orlando. Valid driver's license and proof of insurance. Preferred Experience writing successful grant proposals. Experience working in a nonprofit fundraising or development environment. Experience managing newsletters, donor communications, or social media content. Physical Requirements Work is performed primarily in a professional office environment. Frequent use of computers, telephones, printers, and other office equipment. Ability to lift up to 15 pounds. Valid driver's license and proof of insurance required.
