Job Description

This is a great opportunity for individuals seeking entry into the mental health field.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide one-on-one supervision to consumers who experience severe and persistent mental illnesses or have a severe emotional disturbance. Overall endeavor is to prevent hospitalization or out-of-home placement and to reintegrate consumers into the community.
Quantity:
Specialist will provide PRI, PRG, and AC services as scheduled.
Administrative:
Specialist is an active participant in meeting related administration or treatment planning processes.
Judgment:
Sound judgment is used in ongoing assignments. Maintains a positive, professional and supportive relationship with consumers. Maintains a positive and professional relationship with staff from The Counseling Center and other agencies. Confidentiality is maintained at all times. Specialists keep other staff informed of unusual situations regarding consumers.
Documentation:
Progress notes are accurate and reflect progress toward treatment goals. Documentation is current and turned in daily.
Other Job Functions:
Build relationship and provide positive role model for the consumer. Assist in developing & providing structured activities in order for the consumer to progress toward treatment goals. Be in contact with designated clients and families for regularly scheduled appointments during the hours of 7 am to 9 pm to meet the client and families needs as dictated on their plan of care. Provide opportunity to engage in routine social activities. Maintain a safe and productive environment for the consumer. Report any and all signs/symptoms of child abuse or neglect. Expected to keep supervisor(s) informed of unusual situations re: consumer. Required to keep all arranged appointments with the consumer. Furnish respite to care-givers and families. Provide transportation to and from activities and on occasion to an appointment. Supervising the consumer in the least restrictive environment. Attend training sessions as required by The Counseling Center. Maintain and submit reports and paperwork as required in a timely manner. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor(s).
