We are seeking a Development Officer to support our outreach ministries, our largest of which is Anna's Place NOLA. Anna's Place NOLA is a year-round youth education and mentorship program that has served 1000 young people since its founding in 2010. Located in the Tremé neighborhood, Anna's Place NOLA takes a whole child approach to disrupting the cycles of poverty and violence prevalent in New Orleans by providing year-round mentorship, interdisciplinary instruction, and outside educational and cultural experiences. The Development Officer is a full-time position that will spearhead fundraising efforts for the Church's ministries, primarily Anna's Place and our food pantry. We are seeking a mid-level nonprofit and/or faith-based fundraising professional to identify and cultivate individual donors and institutional donors. This role will receive dedicated weekly support from a high-level fundraiser and friend of the church on overall strategy, individual donor and foundation strategy, and grant editing. This is a wonderful opportunity to increase experience in both individual and corporate and foundation giving, with close mentorship. The successful candidate will be self-motivated, and able to work collaboratively with the clergy and church leadership. Our salary range is $65,000-$75,000 based on experience. Responsibilities Strive to meet annual revenue goal of $700,000 Develop a deep understanding of our role in the community and its value, by way of creating strong relationships with Church clergy, leadership, volunteers, and Anna's Place staff. Develop a strong narrative case for support for St. Anna's & Anna's Place. Use narrative case to develop fundraising material and website language Develop distinct and complimentary sub-narratives that inform the way we talk about St. Anna's and Anna's Place for funders with different focuses, including LGBTQ+ inclusion; anti-poverty work; violence prevention and stopping the school-to-prison pipeline; afterschool support; youth development; the arts; African American cultural preservation; etc. Build and manage prospects, including: A portfolio of 80 individual donors and prospective donors: Steward and cultivate existing donor relationships; Identify and hold relationships with new donors to St. Anna's ministries, primarily Anna's Place. Build and manage a portfolio of 20 institutional prospects: >Steward and cultivate existing corporate, foundation, and faith institution relationships;> Identify and hold relationships with new corporation and foundation donors> Write and submit compelling grant proposals aligned with St. Anna's mission;> Maintain grant tracking calendar for deadlines and deliverables.> Plan and execute special fundraising events in collaboration with Church clergy, leadership and our existing Fundraising Advisory Board, made up of 3-5 of the Church's most committed donors.>Lead Fundraising Advisory Board in monthly meetings, providing updates on progress towardrevenue goals and developing strategies for the board to support efforts.> Represent St. Anna's and Anna's Place at community events across New Orleans Expectations Commitment to St. Anna's mission and enthusiasm for faith-based, non-profit organizations Ability to work collaboratively with a team, under the direction of the Rector and with close guidance from high-level development professional Strong communication, organizational and planning skills Participate in planning meetings with the clergy, leadership, and staff Successful completion of the Safe Church Safe Communities online anti-abuse training module Ability to pass a comprehensive background check Qualifications Minimum three years experience in non-profit fundraising Proven proficiency in grant writing Experience and competency developing/implementing a wide variety of fundraising strategies CFRE preferred How to Apply Email a resume and cover letter as attachments in PDF format to .
