Part-Time Development Officer Description:

Saint James Place enriches the non-profit landscape in the Berkshires. The arts and culture center is a year-round performance venue and home for arts and community partners. Over 50 arts groups in need of quality performance, rehearsal and office space have brought their creativity to our stage, thrilling audiences and event participants since 2017. Our historic building was built in 1857 and has been transformed into the dynamic venue that it is today. The Development Officer works with guidance from the Executive Director, Marketing Consultant, and Board to plan and implement an annual fundraising plan. This key position requires passion for placemaking, the arts, and Saint James Place's mission as well as fundraising abilities, creativity, good humor and a goal-focused outlook. Exceptional interpersonal communication abilities and the ability to successfully cultivate and nurture donor relationships is a must. This is an opportunity to help craft the rebranding of Saint James Place as a community asset and home for arts, culture, education and more. Create a development plan with multiple contributed revenue streams including individual donations, grants, sponsorships and gifts in-kind Work with board and staff to develop a strategy, goals and timeline for implementing the development plan including and annual campaign and majordonor solicitations Implement a donor database and help identify other fundraising infrastructure needs Build and maintain trusted relationships with key stakeholders and donors and implement strategies to increase their level of financial commitment Identify, cultivate and establish new donor relationships Develop a sponsorship program Working with contracted grant writer, coordinate grant writing and research for both building and program Plan and implement small donor cultivation and fundraising events Steward donors (thank you notes, meetings, check-ins, impact report, recognition, etc)

Qualifications:

Knowledge of Great Barrington, Berkshires and arts community Bachelor's degree and demonstrated fundraising success in non-profit setting Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills Strong understanding of donor research, identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship (Training provided) Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team Highest degree of integrity, confidentiality, and dedication to the mission Excellent verbal and written skills with a demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and relate to donors, volunteers, staff, board members and community members Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to work within an allocated budget Familiarity with development software and Microsoft Office suite
