Position:
The Center for Adoption Support and Education (C.A.S.E.) is seeking a Development Officer who plays a strategic and operational role in securing and managing funding that advances C.A.S.E's mission and programs. This position reports to the Chief Development Officer and will play a central role in building and managing donor pipeline, with a particular emphasis on annual and mid-level donors. The role includes supporting donor cultivation and stewardship efforts, coordinating fundraising activities, and ensuring donors are thoughtfully engaged and positioned for deeper, long-term relationships with the organization.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Portfolio Management & Donor Cultivation Manage a portfolio of approximately 75 annual giving level prospects and donors, increase this portfolio contingent on segment growth. Develop and implement individualized engagement, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship plans. Conduct regular donor meetings (virtual and in-person) to deepen engagement and secure annual gifts, major gifts, and sponsor commitments. With the expectation of a minimum of 15 substantive actions per week. Track all donor interactions, move management steps, and progress in the CRM system Proactively research and identify new donor prospect leads. Grow the giving thresholds of existing annual giving level donors by a minimum of 5% annually.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Fundraising & Solicitation Meet or exceed annual fundraising goals aligned with organizational priorities. Identify and solicit sponsorships, major gifts, and annual fund contributions. Support the development and execution of targeted fundraising campaigns. Research new prospects and expand the donor pipeline through community outreach and networking. Donor Stewardship Execute stewardship plans to ensure donors receive timely and meaningful recognition and impact updates. Collaborate with communications to produce stewardship letters, acknowledgment messages, and donor reports. Ensure donors feel valued, informed, and connected to the mission. Special Events & Engagement Activities Support planning and execution of fundraising and stewardship events. Coordinate donor participation, sponsorship benefits, and follow-up activities. Represent the organization at community events, speaking engagements, and partner meetings. Collaboration & Cross-Department Support Work closely with Chief Development Officer, Grants Manager and Development Coordinator to align fundraising opportunities with organizational needs. Provide timely updates on fundraising progress, revenue projections, and portfolio activity. Assist in developing fundraising materials, proposals, and presentations.
