Grants Hennepin County Medical Center paid time off, tuition reimbursement United States, Minnesota, Minneapolis 701 Park Ave (Show on map) Jul 22, 2026 Hennepin Healthcare is an integrated system of care that includes HCMC, a nationally recognized Level I Adult Trauma Center and Level I Pediatric Trauma Center and acute care hospital, as well as a clinic system with primary care clinics located in Minneapolis and across Hennepin County. The comprehensive healthcare system includes a 473-bed academic medical center, a large outpatient Clinic & Specialty Center, and a network of clinics in the North Loop, Whittier, and East Lake Street neighborhoods of Minneapolis, and in the suburban communities of Brooklyn Park, Golden Valley, Richfield, and St. Anthony Village. Hennepin Healthcare has a large psychiatric program, home care, and operates a research institute, philanthropic foundation, and Hennepin EMS. The system is operated by Hennepin Healthcare System, Inc., a subsidiary corporation of Hennepin County.

SUMMARY We are currently seeking a Development Officer Senior - Grants to join our Hennepin Healthcare Foundation department. This full-time role will primarily work hybrid (days). Purpose of this
Position:
This position is responsible for grant writing, including prospecting, proposal development, and post-award grant management, as well as philanthropic operations, including strategic planning, promotion, budget, standards, organization, and industry policies, compliance, and evaluation.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for grant writing and philanthropic operations, including strategic planning, promotion, budget, standards, organization, and industry policies, compliance, and evaluation Manages a robust pipeline of grant prospects using online subscription services, internet, print, and interpersonal resources to identify and qualify government, foundation, and corporate funding opportunities Writes and submits government and foundation grants, in collaboration with program leads. This includes creating a detailed annual plan of work, managing the budget and schedule, grant/proposal development and deadlines, standard communication, evaluation, and acknowledgment process Collaborates with health system administrative and foundation leadership in identifying appropriate opportunities Builds and maintains a portfolio of funders by fostering relationships, responding to requests for proposals, hosting/participating in meetings, conducting site visits, or other appropriate activities Maintains accurate and clear electronic and paper (where required) records Works closely with HHF team members and Finance to share activity, promote outcomes, comply with contract and regulatory requirements, maintain accurate records as to submissions in fund accounting and relevant databases, and to assure accurate and timely reporting to funders and regulatory agencies Writes and provides editorial leadership in preparing compelling cases for support, proposals, and letters of intent in response to funding source requirements Maintains current knowledge of safety-net hospital and clinical issues and emerging best practices, e.g., health equity, in meeting patient and public health needs. Assists in maintaining hospital partnerships and collaborations related to strategic priorities Participates in and/or leads work teams as requested Partners with and assists HHF colleagues in the creation of grant-related promotional materials for print, web and video, including newsletter articles, certificates, and proposals demonstrating the impact of grants at HCMC Manages work plans, priorities, budgets, standards, organization, and industry policies, compliance, evaluation, and communication strategies Tracks and monitors data, course correcting as needed to meet annual goals and performance metrics Supervises team members, volunteers, and interns as appropriate in accordance with HCMC leader standards Adheres to the professional standards and conduct of the Grant Professionals Association Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree Four (4) years of successful experience in a combination of grant writing, fundraising, portfolio management, donor relations, event planning, writing/journalism, and people management OR An approved equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Analytical skills and the ability to use analytical tools Knowledge of safety net hospitals and health equity issues Federal Grant experience. 2 yrs experience managing federal grant awards
Knowledge/ Skills/ Abilities:
Excellent research and oral/written communication skills Proficiency with relevant computer programs, including Microsoft Office Ability to independently manage grant-seeking initiatives Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Strong relationship-building skills with both funders and hospital colleagues Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously General knowledge of healthcare fundraising Closing Paragraph You've made the right choice in considering Hennepin Healthcare for your employment.
