  • Jobs Plus Reporting to the Career Pathways Manager, the Career Development Specialist (Retetion) will support Jobs-Plus members through career planning, job retention and case management services to support members to remain employed and achieve promotions and career advancement.
Responsibilities Conduct 1-on-1 sessions with employed members to develop a retention plan and address on-the-job issues that members may be experiencing Maintain a strong supportive relationship with employed members through consistent communication via phone, text, email, mail, social media, and in-person visits to members' jobs, and/or other designated meeting places Facilitate quarterly meetings with members that celebrates member achievements Facilitate bi-weekly retention workshops that address common barriers and challenges to staying employed and attaining career advancement Verify retention and advancement outcomes and distribute incentives Using quantitative and qualitative data to plan and execute innovative strategies to address issues faced by public housing residents and eliminate barriers that make continuous employment difficult Track data and progress in program database Other tasks as assigned by Urban Upbound leadership Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, or related field required Minimum of two years of experience in workforce development, human services, or related field Motivational facilitator, with ability to coach a diverse group of adults towards growth over a sustained period of time Strong project management skills, including managing competing priorities and meeting deadlines Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Docs, Internet Research, and social media Outcomes-driven, strong analytical skills with experience using data to inform programmatic decisions Highly motivated, with proven capacity to work independently, take initiative, and thrive in high-paced entrepreneurial environment Flexible, with availability to work a weeknight and occasional Saturdays Bilingual Spanish preferred Passion for social justice
