This primary responsibility of this position is coordination of all VR referrals, coordinating all response and timelines and placement activities of individuals with disabilities in community businesses; ensuring customer satisfaction and maintaining good public relations with existing employers; and developing new contacts with potential employers. These activities will increase sales through customer contact/referrals for other sales representatives.Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities:
Partners with Employment Specialists to ensure job readiness of persons with disabilities. Follows up with all documentation with all AFP and RFP reports. Attends job fairs and other employment functions as needed. Is available to transport and assist people with disabilities through interview process. Provide input on ways the organization can create integrated employment opportunities for people with disabilities. Attend meetings and participate in teams/committees as assigned, including sales meetings. Performs other related duties as assigned.Secondary Functions:
Identifies and meets with potential or new employers to develop jobs for people with disabilities in the community. Provides on-going follow-up with existing and potential customers to ensure customer satisfaction. Coordinates training and support with employers to ensure successful placement and retention. Markets Garten's Services (i.e., cold calling, distribution of brochures, attending community functions/meetings). Works with employers to successfully resolve complaints. Maintain job log database. Research labor trends in the community. Provides consultation services to employers regarding ADA accommodations and/or job carving possibilities. Provides content-specific workshops to staff and job applicants. Coordinates with Recruiter to ensure application of current ADA laws. Identifies potential new customer leads for other Garten Divisions/businesses. Maintains in-depth knowledge of programs and procedures of all Garten divisions/businesses.Job Scope:
Performs duties independently with minimal supervision, operates from established and well known procedures. Decisions are made within general company policy constraints but may occasionally require independent decision making. May be asked to provide input on recommendations concerning long range operational and strategic planning for the organization. Mistakes/errors in job placement or representation of Garten could result in customer dissatisfaction and/or negative impact on people with disabilities, both of which could have direct negative financial implications and loss of credibility/image of the organization.Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position is not supervisory in nature.Interpersonal Contacts:
Has regular contact with others both inside and outside the organization. The most common internal contacts are with own department staff and supervisor and other departments and locations. The most frequent external contacts are with existing or potential customers. The types of interactions, for both internal and external contacts, involve information exchange, selling, consulting, problem solving, and negotiation. Contacts, both inside and outside, are usually made at the employee's own initiative with 20% of the contacts being over the phone and 80% face to face. At least 80% of all contacts are with external customers while 20% are internal customers. Contacts contain some discussion about confidential/sensitive matters.Specific Job Skills Required:
Ability to match appropriate job skills with employer needs, ensuring successful job placement. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Selling, negotiation, project coordination, creativity, and customer service skills. Ability to maintain high level of confidentiality. Ability to organize, balance multiple priorities, coordinate projects, and focus on tasks through completion. Ability to work independently, use independent judgment and discretion in making decisions. Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English. Ability to actively participate in team development and team-oriented processes. Physical and mental ability to use computer hardware/software and 10-key. Valid driver's license, acceptable driving record, and proof of current vehicle insurance. Education and/orExperience Required:
Minimum of 2-3 years experience/training in job development processes and/or experience in sales/marketing. An undergraduate degree specializing in, social sciences, rehabilitation, or related field may be substituted for experience. Knowledge of Salem community/businesses and community resources is preferred.Perks Include:
