Our future VISTA Member will research grant opportunities, assist with grant writing and proposal development, recruit and engage community volunteers and donors, develop outreach and marketing materials, maintain donor and partner databases, and support fundraising campaigns and events to expand organizational resources. The VISTA Member will also establish systems for collecting and analyzing data, conduct stakeholder and community surveys, track volunteer and donor engagement, and compile outcome reports to strengthen program sustainability and future funding opportunities. Responsibilities Grant Development and Fundraising Research local, state, federal, foundation, and corporate grant opportunities. Create and maintain a grant calendar and funding prospect database. Assist in developing grant proposals, letters of inquiry, and supporting documentation. Establish grant tracking and reporting systems to monitor deadlines and outcomes. Develop templates and procedures to streamline future grant-writing efforts. Donor Program Development Design and implement a sustainable donor stewardship program. Develop donor cultivation, recognition, and retention strategies. Create systems for tracking donor communications and engagement activities. Assist in building a donor database and donor management procedures. Develop donor appreciation materials and annual giving campaigns. Research best practices in donor relations and recommend strategies to increase support. Marketing and Community Engagement Create a comprehensive marketing and communications plan. Gather content for newsletters, social media, website updates, and promotional materials. Establish branding and messaging guidelines to ensure consistent communication. Collect and share impact stories highlighting agency programs and outcomes. Increase community awareness through outreach campaigns and public relations efforts. Assist with promoting agency events, volunteer opportunities, and fundraising initiatives. The ideal candidate is organized, adaptable, and passionate about community impact. They excel at building relationships, managing multiple projects, and working collaboratively with staff, volunteers, donors, and community stakeholders. Preferred Skills and Qualifications Strong written and verbal communication skills. Excellent organizational and project management abilities. Experience with research and information gathering. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and online communication tools. Ability to work independently and as a part of a team. Commitment to serving communities and addressing poverty-related challenges. Experience in grant writing, fundraising, marketing, communications, or nonprofit administration. Familiarity with social media management and content creation. Knowledge of donor database or customer relationship management (CRM) systems. Experience working with community organizations or volunteer programs. Graphic design or digital marketing experience .
