Job Description

About the Position St. Stephen's Episcopal School is seeking a motivated, relationship-focused, and mission-driven Capital Campaign & Development Officer to help lead fundraising efforts for our exciting campus expansion and future growth initiatives. Working closely with the Head of School, Board of Trustees, campaign volunteers, and school leadership, this individual will cultivate donor relationships, coordinate campaign communications, and help build a culture of philanthropy throughout our school community. This is a part-time position with flexible scheduling. Some remote work may be available. Key Responsibilities Fundraising & Donor Relations Manage and cultivate a portfolio of donors and prospective donors. Solicit and secure major gifts ranging from $10,000-$250,000. Build meaningful relationships with families, alumni, grandparents, community members, and friends of the school. Develop donor stewardship plans, including personalized thank-you and recognition efforts. Support ongoing annual giving, capital campaign initiatives, and special fundraising projects. Maintain accurate donor records and communication history within the fundraising database. Campaign Communications & Marketing Develop and implement communication strategies that inspire engagement and financial support. Create compelling donor proposals, newsletters, campaign updates, impact reports, and fundraising materials. Manage campaign-related website content and social media communications. Produce and coordinate visual storytelling through photography, graphics, and digital content. Ensure consistent messaging and branding across all campaign and development efforts. Event & Project Support Assist with donor events, campaign gatherings, and community engagement activities. Collaborate with school leadership, Board members, and campaign consultants to coordinate outreach efforts. Track campaign progress and communication effectiveness, making recommendations for improvement when needed. Qualifications Required Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Development, or a related field. Preferred Experience securing major gifts or participating in capital campaigns. Experience working in a nonprofit, faith-based organization, or independent school setting. Proficiency with website management platforms, social media, and donor databases. Experience with graphic design, photography, or video editing. Schedule & Work Environment Part-time position (approximately 16-24 hours per week). Flexible schedule with occasional evening or weekend events. Hybrid and remote work options may be available. Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills. Strong organizational and project management abilities. Ability to build authentic relationships and communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders. Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
