ATASK (Asian Task Force Against Domestic Violence) is the only multilingual and multicultural domestic violence organization in Massachusetts dedicated to serving Asian and Pacific Islander communities. For over 30 years, ATASK has been committed to empowering Asian survivors of domestic violence and abuse to rebuild their lives. Our work bridges language and cultural gaps for Asian communities and advocates for social change. About the role:
We are seeking a creative, organized, and mission-driven Development Associate to support ATASK's fundraising, communications, and development operations. As ATASK continues to strengthen and diversify its funding, you will help build the systems, and donor engagement that support the organization's fundraising goals and long-term sustainability. You will play an important role in supporting essential development operations, including maintaining ATASK's donor database, supporting digital fundraising systems, generating reports, and ensuring development processes and documentation remain accurate and accessible. You will also create engaging communications and marketing materials, including newsletters, social media content, digital campaigns, event promotions, and donor-facing materials that share ATASK's impact with diverse audiences. Working as part of the Development team and collaborating with staff across ATASK, you will support fundraising campaigns, grant activities, donor stewardship efforts, and fundraising events. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, adaptable, and passionate about using strong systems and compelling storytelling to advance ATASK's mission.
Location and Commitments:
Full-Time, non-exempt, 40 hours/week Hybrid model, including both in-person and remote work. In-person work is expected at meetings, fundraising events and other organizational activities as needed.9am-5pm on weekdays, with flexibility for occasional evening or weekend special events or activities.

Director of Development Duties and Responsibilities:
Development Operations & Database Management Serve as a key administrator of ATASK's development database, ensuring accurate data entry, reporting, gift tracking, and ongoing database maintenance. Manage and maintain development technology systems, including the donor database, online giving platforms, event registration tools, and other digital fundraising platforms to support accurate data tracking, donor engagement, and efficient fundraising operations. Generate reports and analyze fundraising data to support decision-making, donor cultivation, stewardship, and organizational planning. Maintain and update the Development Operations Manual, ensuring policies, procedures, and workflows remain current, accessible, and useful for the development team. Support annual audits, gift processing procedures, acknowledgments, and other development operations processes. Communications, Marketing & Brand Support Develop engaging marketing and communications materials that strengthen ATASK's visibility and donor engagement, including newsletters, email communications, social media content, flyers, event materials, and other external-facing materials. Manage the development communications calendar, coordinating donor communications, campaigns, events, and organizational updates across email, social media, website, and print materials. Create and edit visual content, including graphics, flyers, presentations, digital assets, and promotional materials using design tools such as Canva. Support marketing and communications efforts for fundraising campaigns, events, and community engagement initiatives. Ensure consistency of ATASK's brand identity across communications materials. Support updates to ATASK's website and online platforms. Grant Support & Fundraising Research Support the grant development process, including researching prospective funders, preparing proposal drafts, gathering program information and data, coordinating internal contributions, and tracking deadlines. Assist with grant reports by collecting impact data, client and program information, financial information, and other required materials. Maintain an annual grant calendar tracking proposals, reports, deadlines, and funder communications. Research and identify prospective foundation, corporate, and individual funding opportunities. Support the Director of Development with sponsorship materials, donor proposals, and other fundraising communications. Donor Stewardship & Engagement Support donor stewardship efforts through timely acknowledgments, personalized communications, impact updates, and donor correspondence. Assist with donor research, prospect tracking, and preparation for donor meetings and outreach. Support annual giving campaigns, appeals, and other fundraising initiatives. Assist with preparing donor-facing materials, including impact reports, sponsorship packets, and cultivation materials. Fundraising Event Support & Development Logistics Support the planning and execution of fundraising events, including the Silk Road Gala and other fundraising campaigns. Manage development-related event logistics, including registration systems, online forms, attendee tracking, confirmation of communications, reminders, and follow-up communications. Support event fundraising systems and technology, including registrations, sponsorship and ticket tracking, auction and payment platforms, donor records, and post-event reconciliation. Develop event promotional materials, including invitations, social media graphics, digital communications, and printed materials. Collaborate with the Community Partnerships Officer and other staff to ensure successful event implementation. Collaboration & Other Responsibilities Participate in ATASK meetings and contribute to cross-program collaboration. Build strong working relationships with department teams to collect stories, impact data, and updates that support fundraising and communications efforts. Stay informed about ATASK programs, culturally responsive practices, and issues impacting Asian survivors of domestic violence and abuse. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Passion for the mission of ATASK to empower Asian survivors of domestic violence and abuse to rebuild their lives 1-3 years of relevant experience in nonprofit development, fundraising, communications, marketing, grant writing, database management, or related fields preferred. Experience supporting fundraising activities and donor engagement is strongly preferred Strong technology skills, including experience with donor databases/CRM systems, Microsoft 365, email marketing platforms, social media platforms, website platforms (WordPress preferred), digital fundraising tools, and other technology systems that support fundraising and development operations Strong communications and marketing skills, including experience creating engaging written and visual content for a variety of audiences. Experience developing newsletters, email campaigns, social media content, flyers, graphics, and other promotional materials using design tools such as Canva preferred An unwavering commitment to equity, including a dedication to deepening personal understanding and advancing collective work toward a more equitable community Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills with donors, community partners, staff, and external stakeholders Superior organization and project management skills with strong attention to detail Ability to work on multiple projects, adjust quickly to shifting priorities, meet deadlines, exercise good judgment and handle high-pressure situations Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with a variety of audiences Team player who demonstrates a positive attitude, sense of humor, energy, entrepreneurial spirit and dedication to collaboration Flexibility to work occasional evenings and Saturdays as needed for fundraising events and organizational activities Candidates from the AAPI community and those with fluency in an Asian language are strongly encouraged to apply Bachelor's degree in related field, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and willingness to travel throughout Massachusetts preferred.
Salary:
$60,000 - $70,000 / year Salary is commensurate with education and experience. ATASK is not able to provide visa sponsorship at this time and therefore applicants must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.
