Habitat One is seeking an experienced Development Officer to lead fundraising efforts that support our conservation mission. This position is responsible for building donor relationships, securing philanthropic support, identifying grant opportunities, and increasing community engagement. We're looking for a skilled fundraiser who can connect people with a mission they care about. The ideal candidate will bring proven fundraising experience, strong relationship-building skills, and a passion for conservation, outdoor recreation, natural resources, or related causes. Responsibilities and Duties

• Cultivate, solicit, and steward individual, corporate, and foundation donors.
• Develop and execute fundraising and donor engagement strategies.
• Identify and pursue grant and sponsorship opportunities.
• Plan and support fundraising campaigns and events.
• Build relationships with community partners, stakeholders, and supporters.
• Track fundraising activity and maintain donor records.
• Collaborate with organizational leadership and the Board of Directors to advance fundraising goals. Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• 3-5 years of successful fundraising, development, or nonprofit leadership experience.
• Proven ability to build donor relationships and secure philanthropic support.
• Strong communication, networking, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with leadership and volunteers. Preferred Qualifications
• Experience in conservation, environmental, agricultural, outdoor recreation, or other mission-driven nonprofit organizations.
• Grant writing and major gift fundraising experience.
• Knowledge of donor databases and fundraising best practices.

Work Environment This position offers a flexible hybrid work arrangement. Remote work is available; however, the successful candidate will be expected to maintain a regular presence in Spearfish, including approximately 2-3 days per week in the office, and attend donor meetings, community events, and organizational activities as needed.
