Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Grant Writer to join our team and drive our mission forward through effective fundraising and resource development. In this role, you will be responsible for researching grant opportunities, developing compelling proposals, and managing the entire grant submission process. Your expertise in nonprofit funding strategies, proposal writing, and contract management will be essential to securing vital funding that supports our programs and initiatives. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to impactful community work while honing your skills in grant management, strategic planning, and content editing. Responsibilities Conduct thorough research on grant funding opportunities from government agencies, foundations, and other nonprofit sources. Develop persuasive grant proposals, including narratives, budgets, and supporting documents that align with funder guidelines. Manage the entire grant application process from initial research through submission, ensuring deadlines are met with high-quality content. Maintain and update grant management databases such as Raiser's Edge or similar platforms to track submissions, deadlines, and funding status. Collaborate with program staff to gather accurate data and craft compelling case statements that demonstrate program impact. Prepare financial reports, progress reports, and other documentation required for grant compliance and renewal applications. Proofread and edit proposals for clarity, accuracy, and persuasiveness while maintaining consistency with organizational branding standards. Monitor grant-funded projects to ensure compliance with contractual obligations and reporting requirements. Support strategic planning efforts by identifying new funding sources aligned with organizational goals. Qualifications Proven experience in grant proposal writing, including developing successful applications for nonprofit foundation funding or government grants. Strong understanding of contract management processes and experience managing multiple grants simultaneously. Proficiency with databases such as Raiser's Edge or similar CRM platforms; database management experience is highly desirable. Excellent research skills to identify potential funding opportunities relevant to nonprofit community organizations. Demonstrated ability to craft persuasive content tailored to diverse audiences while maintaining technical accuracy in reports and proposals. Experience with project management tools to coordinate deadlines, deliverables, and stakeholder communication effectively. Knowledge of nonprofit fundraising strategies, budgeting processes, and financial report writing. Exceptional organizational skills with keen attention to detail for proofreading and editing documents. Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment while managing multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
