Role Overview We're seeking a seasoned contractor to provide grant prospecting and writing, proposal development, and funder alignment services. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in equity-centered strategy, understands nonprofit operations, and can translate complex programs into compelling narratives. Key Responsibilities Participate in developing a funder research and grant writing strategy that is aligned with the mission, programs, and geographic scope. Develop grant proposals, LOIs, and supporting materials tailored to funder priorities. Collaborate with program, finance, and leadership teams to gather data and shape narratives. Maintain a grant calendar and track deadlines, submissions, and reporting requirements. Guide funder fit, compliance, and proposal strategy Support post-award reporting and impact storytelling (as needed) Qualifications Minimum 5 years of experience in grant writing and funder research for nonprofits Proven success in securing foundation, corporate, and/or government grants Strong understanding of equity-centered language, logic models, and nonprofit finance Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills Familiarity with CRM systems and grant tracking tools Ability to work independently and collaboratively across teams Education Bachelors degree Preferred Attributes Experience with organizations navigating strategic transformation, especially with grant dependency Comfort with participatory processes and stakeholder engagement Ability to synthesize complex data into funder-friendly formats Commitment to transparency, inclusion, and mission focus Deliverables may include, but are not limited to: Monthly funder prospecting reports Grant calendar updates and submission tracking Targeted number of grants, proposals per month Proposal templates and messaging frameworks
