Grant Writer - Youth Development OrganizationAbout Us STORM Cheerleading - Atlanta is a youth development organization serving children and teens ages 3-17 throughout the Atlanta community. Our mission is to empower youth through mentorship, athletics, wellness, leadership development, and educational opportunities that create confidence, discipline, and long-term success. In addition to cheerleading and sports programming, we provide mentorship initiatives, wellness opportunities, educational classes, community engagement experiences, and other developmental programs designed to positively impact youth and families. As our organization continues to grow, we are actively pursuing both local and national grant opportunities to expand access to programming and strengthen our long-term community impact. Position Overview STORM Cheerleading - Atlanta is seeking an experienced and results-driven Grant Writer to support the organization's fundraising and grant development efforts. This individual will play a critical role in identifying funding opportunities, preparing compelling grant proposals, and helping secure financial support for youth-focused programs and initiatives. We already have organizational materials, program content, supporting documents, and grant-ready folders prepared for collaboration. We are seeking someone with proven success in securing funding and managing grant processes who can strategically guide and execute applications at a high level. The ideal candidate is an exceptional writer, strategic thinker, and organized professional with experience working with nonprofit organizations, youth development programs, sports-based initiatives, or community organizations. Responsibilities Research and identify local, state, federal, corporate, and national grant opportunities aligned with the organization's mission and programs. Write, edit, and submit compelling grant proposals, letters of inquiry, and funding applications. Collaborate with organizational leadership to develop funding strategies and program narratives. Manage grant timelines, submission deadlines, reporting requirements, and compliance documentation. Prepare detailed budgets, financial narratives, and supporting documentation for applications. Maintain organized grant records, donor tracking systems, and funding databases. Assist with fundraising strategy, sponsorship outreach, and partnership development opportunities. Conduct research to support program development, community impact reporting, and strategic growth initiatives. Support contract and grant agreement review processes when applicable. Qualifications Proven track record of successfully securing grant funding for nonprofit, youth development, education, sports, wellness, or community-based organizations. Strong grant writing, technical writing, editing, and proofreading skills. Experience managing multiple grants, deadlines, and funding applications simultaneously. Knowledge of fundraising strategy, nonprofit development, and donor/grant management systems such as Raiser's Edge or similar CRM platforms. Strong research, organizational, and communication skills. Experience preparing budgets, financial narratives, and program outcome reports. Ability to work collaboratively while also independently managing projects from concept to submission. Passion for youth development, mentorship, education, sports, and community impact. Preferred Experience Nonprofit or youth sports organization experience preferred. Experience applying for local, state, federal, and foundation grants. Familiarity with community impact reporting and measurable outcome tracking.
