The position of Prevention Specialist is responsible for delivering substance use prevention strategies to youth, families, and the community. Responsibilities include but are not limited to delivering evidence-informed curricula, conducting community outreach, participating in health fairs and community events, supporting naloxone education and distribution, and collaborating with community organizations and other stakeholders. The Prevention Specialist may also support other prevention initiatives that are aligned with identified community needs and Aiken Center's goals. Key Responsibilities & Requirements

• As assigned, implement in various settings the Center for Substance Abuse Prevention strategies to include: o Information Dissemination o Education o Community Based Process o Environmental o Alternatives o Problem Identification & Referral
• As assigned, implement and/or assist with the implementation of activities, as defined in existing or future contracts, grants, plans, and Memoranda of Understanding (MOU).
• Identify and communicate ongoing opportunities for program development within the opioid remediation strategies.
• Under guidance, assist with development and dissemination of agency content across social media, Aiken Center's website, and other digital platforms and digital media.
• Build and maintain partnerships with schools, community organizations, law enforcement, businesses, and other stakeholders.
• Demonstrate initiative and accountability with assigned tasks and activities, meet deadlines, and communicate progress or barriers to the Prevention Servies Manager.
• Obtain and sustain necessary licensure, credentialing, certification, and other professional development plan requirements.
• Document activities through use of the established reporting systems and assist with the writing of additional reports, proposals, plans, evaluations, and public education materials.
• Perform other prevention-related duties and special projects assigned by the Prevention Services Manager or Senior Leadership.
• Strong computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office, and standard office software.
• Ability to maintain accurate, complete, and confidential documentation.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks in a timely manner.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and customer service skills. Possession of a Bachelor's degree (B.A./B.S.) from an accredited college or university is required. Performance Standards & Expectations
