This project will help combat poverty by leading South Dallas and surrounding communities to higher-paying employment or entrepreneurship through business training, coaching, resources, and opportunities. The VISTA volunteer will strengthen Oak Cliff Empowered Inc.'s organizational capacity and financial sustainability by developing systems, resources, and partnerships that expand the organization's ability to serve participants and create opportunities for employment, training, mentorship, and entrepreneurship. The community capacity-building work will advance economic mobility and long-term financial stability for individuals and families in underserved communities throughout Southern Dallas.

Member Duties :

The VISTA volunteer will develop and document systems to strengthen Oak Cliff Empowered, Inc.'s resource development and financial sustainability. Some activities include researching and identifying grant opportunities and other funding sources. Develop a funding calendar to track grants and sponsorships, donor cultivation activities, application and reporting deadlines, and follow-up activities. Develop sponsorship packages that communicate opportunities for businesses and other organizations. The VISTA volunteer will also develop systems and resources to strengthen community partnerships and expand access to organizational resources and opportunities. These activities include researching and identifying potential partners whose missions and resources align with the organization. Develop and maintain a partnership prospect database. Develop standardized outreach materials and communication tools to support staff efforts to establish relationships with prospective partners.
