Seasonal Food & Events Business Location:
Birmingham, Alabama Position:
Seasonal, January through
June On-Target Earnings:
$30,000-$45,000 per season, with meaningful additional upside An Opportunity to Run a Business An established Birmingham-area seasonal food and events company is seeking an entrepreneurial operator to lead, operate, and grow the business. This is not a conventional management position. We are looking for someone who wants the autonomy, responsibility, and financial upside of running a business—without having to start one from scratch. The company already has an established brand, customers, equipment, infrastructure, and demonstrated market demand. The Operating Partner will step into this foundation, take ownership of day-to-day execution, and help build the company's next stage of growth. The owner will provide strategic support, financial oversight, resources, and guidance. The Operating Partner will be trusted to lead the team, manage the operation, protect profitability, deliver an excellent customer experience, and take responsibility for the company's seasonal performance. The Opportunity This role is designed for someone who:
- Wants the opportunity to run a real business
- Is motivated by autonomy and financial upside
- Enjoys building teams and solving operational problems
- Wants to benefit directly from the profit they help create
- Can work intensely during a defined operating season
- Values having substantial freedom during the remainder of the year
- Is excited about improving and growing an established company The Operating Partner will have room to improve systems, develop the team, pursue growth opportunities, and shape how the business operates.
Compensation and Upside This is a performance-based operating partnership with compensation tied directly to company profitability. On-target earnings are expected to range from $30,000 to $45,000 per season, with additional upside as the company grows and becomes more profitable. A structured draw may be available during active months and applied against earned profit-sharing compensation. Complete compensation details will be discussed with qualified candidates during the interview process. This opportunity is intended to reward someone for the value they create… not simply for the number of hours they work. Seasonal Schedule The Operating Partner will begin in January for onboarding, training, preseason planning, recruiting, equipment preparation, purchasing, and operational setup. The primary operating season runs from February through June.
January responsibilities will include:
- Learning the company's systems and operating model
- Reviewing prior performance and the upcoming seasonal plan
- Recruiting and preparing the seasonal team
- Confirming vendors, purchasing processes, and inventory needs
- Inspecting and preparing equipment and trailers
- Organizing storage, supplies, and operating facilities
- Preparing schedules, procedures, and customer-service standards
- Ensuring the business is fully prepared before the season begins February through June will require substantial availability, particularly during peak periods.
The Operating Partner must be prepared to work weekends, holidays, early mornings, events, and occasional extended days. The season is fast-paced and demanding, but the role provides significant flexibility from July through December. What You Will Own The Operating Partner will take primary responsibility for:
- Leading the company's day-to-day operations
- Recruiting, training, scheduling, and managing the seasonal team
- Coordinating purchasing, inventory, production, deliveries, and events
- Ensuring orders and events are completed accurately and professionally
- Maintaining high standards for quality, cleanliness, safety, and customer service
- Managing labor, product costs, waste, supplies, and operating expenses
- Protecting company equipment, trailers, inventory, and facilities
- Maintaining accurate sales, inventory, expense, and cash-handling records
- Providing consistent performance reporting and communication
- Developing systems that improve efficiency, consistency, and profitability
- Strengthening customer retention, referrals, and repeat business
- Identifying and pursuing responsible growth opportunities
- Solving problems without waiting to be told what to do

- Think and act like an owner
- Are ambitious, dependable, and resourceful
- Take personal responsibility for results
- Know how to lead people while remaining willing to work alongside them
- Understand that revenue must translate into healthy profit
- Are comfortable making decisions in a fast-moving environment
- Communicate clearly and handle problems professionally
- Can balance an excellent customer experience with financial discipline
- Are trustworthy with money, equipment, employees, and customer relationships
- Want to improve the business over multiple seasons
- Can commit fully from January through June Relevant experience may include food service, catering, hospitality, events, logistics, retail operations, construction, field services, or operating a small business.
