Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and proactive Assistant Manager to join our team and help drive our retail operations to new heights. In this vital leadership role, you will support the store manager in overseeing daily store functions, managing staff, and ensuring an exceptional customer experience. Your energetic approach and management expertise will inspire your team, optimize sales, and maintain smooth store operations. Responsibilities Assist in supervising daily store activities, including sales floor operations, inventory control, and cash handling procedures. Lead and motivate team members through effective training, coaching, and performance management to foster a high-energy retail environment. Manage employee orientation, onboarding, and ongoing development to ensure staff are knowledgeable about products, policies, and customer service standards. Oversee merchandising efforts, pricing strategies, and stock replenishment to maximize sales opportunities. Conduct interviewing and recruiting processes to attract talented candidates who align with our store's values. Handle payroll processing, bookkeeping tasks, and manage store budgets to ensure financial accuracy and efficiency. Maintain excellent customer service standards by addressing customer inquiries promptly and resolving issues with professionalism. Support shift management by coordinating schedules, monitoring sales performance, and ensuring compliance with company policies. Utilize POS (Point of Sale) systems for transactions while ensuring accurate cash handling and cashiering procedures. Implement marketing initiatives within the store to promote products and increase foot traffic. Qualifications Proven assistant manager or supervisory experience in a retail setting with a strong track record of leadership success. Excellent communication skills in multiple languages; bilingual abilities are highly desirable. Strong negotiation skills with the ability to influence both customers and team members positively. Demonstrated expertise in recruiting, employee orientation, training & development, and team management. Proficiency in retail math including pricing strategies, budgeting, inventory management, and sales analysis. Experience with POS systems, cash handling procedures, merchandising, stock management, and inventory control. Knowledge of grocery store operations or similar retail environments is a plus. Ability to multitask effectively while maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced setting. Organizational skills combined with time management expertise to prioritize tasks efficiently. Fluency in English; additional language skills are advantageous for serving diverse customer bases.
