Our Tempe facility supports collision repair, mechanical service, fleet maintenance, body work, welding, paint, and vehicle restoration for foreign and domestic vehicles. POSITION SUMMARY
AutoCrafters is seeking an experienced General Manager to oversee daily operations across the automotive service and collision repair business. This hands-on leader will ensure repairs move on schedule, employees remain productive and accountable, customers receive excellent service, and the business meets its revenue and profitability goals.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Oversee daily operations of the collision and automotive repair facility. Lead estimators, production staff, technicians, detailers, administrative staff, and other personnel. Set expectations, hold employees accountable, and conduct regular production meetings. Monitor workload, vehicle flow, job assignments, cycle time, delivery dates, and delayed vehicles. Coordinate estimating, parts, technicians, paint, detailing, mechanical repair, and front-office work. Resolve outstanding parts, supplements, and other production obstacles. Ensure customers receive accurate updates and professionally resolve escalated concerns. Maintain relationships with insurers, adjusters, vendors, fleet companies, and commercial accounts. Monitor sales, gross profit, labor production, technician efficiency, expenses, and profitability. Review estimates and repair orders as needed and ensure quality standards before delivery. Lead hiring, training, scheduling, coaching, and employee development. Establish policies and maintain a professional, organized, safe, and clean facility. Develop fleet, insurance, commercial, and referral relationships while monitoring customer satisfaction. Report performance and operational issues directly to ownership. Improve processes, productivity, customer service, and profitability while ensuring legal and safety compliance.
QUALIFICATIONS
Automotive repair or collision management experience strongly preferred. Previous experience managing employees and shop operations. Understanding of collision estimating and production workflow. Knowledge of insurance claims and supplement processes preferred. Strong leadership, problem-solving, and customer-service abilities. Ability to manage multiple vehicles, employees, deadlines, and priorities. Comfort with shop-management and estimating software. Strong understanding of automotive shop financial performance. Valid driver's license required.
