Come join the team at LivAway Suites and work for the best management firm in the business— Four Pillars Lodging We are seeking a sales-oriented, hands-on General Manager to lead one of our LivAway Suites properties. This is a leadership role for someone who can drive local business, lead a lean team, and take ownership of operational and financial performance. This is not a desk job. You will lead from the front.
Opportunity Summary:
Four Pillars Lodging (FPL) is a growth-oriented hotel management company built on our values of People First, Accountability, and Operational Excellence. We are seeking a sales-oriented, operationally sound General Manager to lead one of our LivAway Suites properties. This role is ideal for an energetic operator who can balance driving local sales, guest experience, team leadership, and operational controls. You'll be responsible for driving day-to-day execution while doing local marketing, building a team, and delivering consistent results.
Position Summary:
The General Manager is responsible for overall property performance. This includes local sales activities, guest satisfaction, cleanliness, team development, labor management, and financial performance. The GM leads a lean hotel team and is expected to be entrepreneurial in driving business and hands-on in leading the property, supporting front desk staff, housekeeping, laundry, and operational coverage as needed to ensure consistent service. The GM is also responsible for ensuring compliance with company and brand policies, safety and security procedures, and required operational deadlines and reporting.
Responsibilities:
Sales & Local Market Engagement o Actively network in the local community to promote the property and drive demand. o Build and maintain relationships with key local accounts, organizations, and demand generators. o Lead property-level sales initiatives including walk-ins, extended stay outreach, and local marketing activity. o Maintain awareness of competitive properties and local market conditions and adjust tactics accordingly. Leadership & Team Development o Recruit, hire, train, schedule, and lead a property team of approximately 6-12 associates. o Set clear performance expectations and provide ongoing coaching and accountability. o Build a culture of professionalism, urgency, and ownership across the hotel team. o Maintain appropriate staffing coverage and step in to support shifts when needed due to absences or business needs. Guest Experience & Property Standards o Ensure the hotel is always "guest ready", including cleanliness, readiness of rooms, and standards in public areas. o Resolve guest issues promptly and professionally, escalating concerns appropriately. o Monitor and respond to guest reviews and feedback in alignment with company expectations. o Maintain a visible, guest-forward presence and set the service tone for the team. Operations & Brand Compliance o Execute day-to-day hotel operations in alignment with brand standards and Four Pillars Lodging expectations. o Ensure completion of required operational checklists, deadlines, reporting, and audits. o Oversee housekeeping, laundry operations, and public space standards; support these functions directly as needed. o Ensure proper cash handling, system usage, and administrative controls are followed. Financial Performance & Labor Management o Manage labor and operating expenses to meet budget expectations and operational needs. o Monitor occupancy, ADR, and performance trends and implement tactical actions to improve results. o Understand and manage core P&L drivers, support accurate forecasting and timely reporting. o Identify cost controls and operational efficiencies without sacrificing the guest experience. Safety, Security, & Emergency Procedures o Know and follow property emergency procedures and ensure team training and readiness. o Maintain security standards for the property, guests, and associates. o Report incidents and safety concerns promptly and ensure corrective actions are taken. Other Duties as Assigned o Support additional responsibilities as business needs arise, consistent with hotel operations and leadership expectations.
Required Qualifications:
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Minimum 1 year of sales experience (retail, extended-stay hotel, or similar) and a demonstrated ability to generate revenue.
  • Strong working knowledge of business operations including labor management, operations management and execution, and basic financial controls.
  • Proficient computer skills and comfort working across common hospitality software and reporting tools.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving ability, entrepreneurial attitude, and a bias toward action.
  • Flexible schedule availability, including nights and weekends.
Bonus Qualifications:
  • Experience in lean-staffed or limited service/extended stay operations.
  • Demonstrated success in building community-based relationships to help drive revenue.
  • Experience managing labor budgets and driving property-level results through operational discipline.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, twist, kneel, and squat for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 20 lbs regularly and up to 50 lbs occasionally.
  • Ability to perform hands-on work in housekeeping/laundry and support operational coverage as needed.
