Job Description

We are seeking an Assistant Manager with a "prompt-to-do" attitude to assist in managing tenant relationships, rent collections, and property marketing in a professional and timely manner. In this role, you will provide administrative support to the onsite team, handle bookkeeping tasks, and help maintain high occupancy levels to protect the long-term value of the properties.
Job Responsibilities Financial & Accounting Oversight Comprehensive Bookkeeping:
Completes the daily transactions and tasks related to the financial operation of the community by collecting and posting rent, fees, and other payments.
Account Reconciliation:
Prepares daily bank deposits, reconciles bank accounts, and processes resident dispositions (security deposits) in accordance with legal requirements.
Accounts Payable:
Reviews and submits invoices from vendors and contractors for payment by reconciling work performed and coding charges to appropriate Chart of Account codes.
Revenue Management:
Reviews resident files to determine unpaid or late fees, communicates with residents regarding outstanding balances, and implements procedures for collecting on delinquencies.
Operational Leadership Acting Supervisor:
Acts as the on-site supervisor in the absence of the community manager by organizing and delegating daily work and coordinating maintenance and make-ready tasks.
Legal & Evictions:
Follows established procedures related to evictions, including following proper notice requirements and representing the community in court hearings and proceedings.
Reporting:
Operates property management software (Yardi/OneSite) to record, track, and report on all financial workings; prepares monthly close-out and financial reports.
Owner Relations:
Assists in managing the client/owner relationship by conducting community tours and providing updates on the community's performance.
Occupancy & Resident Relations Marketing & Sales:
Performs community sales and marketing tasks to effectively maintain high occupancy levels.
Resident Retention:
Promotes resident satisfaction by responding to complaints, questions, and requests in a timely manner to resolve service issues.
Property Integrity:
Inspects and helps ensure the physical appearance and operational standards of the property meet company excellence.
Qualifications & Requirements Experience:
1-3 years proven experience in multi-unit apartment management; background in sales and leasing is highly preferred.
Tech Skills:
Proficiency in property management software, specifically Entrata, Yardi or OneSite , ensuring the integrity of the system through accurate data entry and updates.
Leadership:
Strong team-building skills with the ability to manage tenant relationships and delegate work effectively.
Attributes:
Self-paced and self-driven with exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving expertise.
License:
Valid California Driver's License and a reliable vehicle required.
Physical & Availability:
Must be able to independently lift, carry, or maneuver up to 25 lbs., and up to 50 lbs. with assistance. Role requires performing thorough daily property inspections and maintaining a Tuesday through Saturday work schedule.
Pay:
$24.00 - $28.00 per hour
