THE POSITION
The Executive Director oversees fiscal operations and compliance for school districts and educational agencies within the County. They assist in managing the operations of District Business and Advisory Services to meet state and federal compliance requirements. This role provides expert leadership in budgeting, financial reporting, accounting standards, and legislative compliance. The Executive Director works with local education agencies (LEAs) to ensure financial solvency, regulatory compliance, and alignment with the County's mission of promoting equitable educational opportunities. Additionally, they collaborate with leaders on the development and implementation of Business Services mentor and training programs, facilitate training and provide strategic guidance to improve financial management practices across stakeholders. This job reports to the Assigned Administrator.

TYPICAL DUTIES:
Lead the development, training, and implementation of innovative financial procedures, practices, strategies and tools to enhance efficiency and productivity in business operations for both internal and external personnel. Direct the overall delivery of external business services, including budget development, fiscal oversight, and compliance reporting for LEAs. Monitor and ensure adherence to

compliance requirements, including school district budgets, audit reports, financial statements, and collective bargaining agreements. Provide fiscal technical training and assistance to Local Educational agencies on accounting standards, budget development, financial reporting, reconciliations, audit findings, and internal controls. Create mechanisms to memorialize best practices, both to make resources widely and easily available and for systemwide documentation.

Education:
Bachelor's degree in a job-related area preferred.
Experience:
Eight (8) years of experience working in a school district or educational institution, with increasing levels of responsibility in District General Ledger management, accounting, and payroll and/or operations. Knowledge of the ESCAPE Financial System is strongly desired. Three (3) years of management experience required. SACS financial reporting experience required.
Equivalency:
A combination of education and job-related experience equivalent to the above qualifications.
