General Manager -
Transit Operations Salary:
$140,000-$160,000 annually We are seeking an experienced General Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of a passenger transportation operation. This position is responsible for ensuring safe, reliable service while managing employees, client relationships, financial performance, regulatory compliance, and overall operational efficiency. Key Responsibilities Oversee all daily transit operations, including safety, service performance, staffing, and customer satisfaction. Lead and develop the management team and frontline workforce. Maintain strong relationships with employees, clients, union representatives, and community partners. Manage operating budgets, costs, KPIs, and overall financial performance. Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, service quality, and business performance. Oversee vehicle utilization, scheduling, maintenance performance, and other operational assets. Ensure compliance with federal and state transportation, employment, safety, and environmental regulations. Manage labor relations, including grievances and union-related matters. Analyze operational data and prepare accurate performance reports. Support employee development, training, and performance management. Qualifications Minimum 5 years of management experience in fixed-route and/or paratransit bus operations of similar size and scope. Strong knowledge of public transit operations, safety requirements, and applicable regulations. Experience managing budgets, cost controls, and operational performance. Experience working with clients and maintaining strong customer relationships. Experience working in a union environment, including labor relations, grievances, and negotiations. Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and transportation-related technology. Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Transportation, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience will be considered. Must meet applicable DOT drug testing and physical requirements.
