Job Description

Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic General Manager for The PlayGarten, Summit County's favorite indoor kids play area and family gathering spot. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing daily operations, ensuring a safe and enjoyable environment for children and their families, leading a team of staff members, overseeing facility maintenance, organizing and planning events, and other duties as assigned. This role requires strong leadership, high attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a passion for creating memorable experiences for guests.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise Staff:
Recruit, train, and manage a team of play area staff, ensuring high levels of performance and customer service. Train new employees on safety protocols and customer service
Ensure Safety:
Monitor the play area and playground equipment to guarantee the safety of all guests. Implement and enforce safety protocols and procedures, conducting regular safety checks and risk assessments.
Guest Relations:
Address and resolve guest issues or concerns promptly and professionally. Foster a welcoming atmosphere and encourage feedback to improve services.
Cleaning and Maintenance:
Oversee the cleanliness and maintenance of the facility, ensuring all equipment is in safe working condition and maintaining high hygiene standards throughout the facility. Coordinate regular cleaning schedules, inspections and facility maintenance.
Inventory Management:
Maintain inventory of supplies and equipment, ensuring timely ordering and restocking. Monitor usage and identify cost-effective purchasing strategies.
Financial Management:
Assist with budgeting for special events, community engagement and marketing efforts. Monitor expenses and revenue, identifying areas for improvement and cost-saving measures.
Staff Scheduling:
Develop and manage staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage during peak hours, special events, and holidays.
Customer Service:
Work some shifts independently which will include operating a POS, checking guests in, regular cleaning duties, restocking inventory and/or changing kegs, etc.
Program Development:
Plan and implement activities and special events to engage the local community. Suggest new programs or offerings to attract and retain clients and grow revenue.
Event Coordination:
Coordinate special events and birthday parties, ensuring a positive guest experience and optimal staffing ratios.
Community Engagement:
Build relationships with local schools, organizations, and families to promote the play area and increase community involvement.
Qualifications:
Previous experience in management or customer service, preferably in a children's entertainment or recreational environment. Ability to work evenings and weekends. Strong leadership and interpersonal skills. Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities. Ability to handle guest complaints with professionalism and care. Ability to creatively solve problems including performing small repairs. First Aid and CPR certification is a plus. Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in children's play areas is a plus.
