Sunday-Thursday | 11:00 AM - Finish A well-established organization within the logistics and supply chain industry is seeking an experienced Assistant General Manager to help lead operations at a fast-paced distribution facility in Decatur, GA. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced operations leader who is ready to take on broader responsibility and continue progressing toward senior-level warehouse leadership. The Opportunity The Assistant General Manager will partner closely with the General Manager to oversee daily warehouse operations while driving safety, productivity, customer satisfaction, associate development, and financial performance . This role requires a hands-on leader who is comfortable working in a high-volume environment, developing frontline leaders, managing changing operational priorities, and maintaining strong relationships with the onsite customer. The ideal candidate will bring 4-6+ years of progressive management experience within warehouse, distribution, transportation, logistics, or a similar industrial environment. Key Responsibilities Partner with the General Manager to oversee day-to-day warehouse operations Drive operational performance through established KPIs, productivity metrics, and service expectations Identify and implement opportunities to improve efficiency, quality, service, and profitability Build and maintain a strong working relationship with the onsite customer Ensure customer expectations and service-level commitments are consistently achieved Coordinate staffing and scheduling based on workload, volume, and operational requirements Lead, coach, and develop Supervisors and frontline associates Participate in hiring, onboarding, training, performance management, corrective action, and employee development Provide both hands-on coaching and formal performance feedback Promote a strong culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement Monitor safety, physical security, and operational performance Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and safety standards Investigate and document workplace accidents and injuries Analyze operational challenges and develop effective solutions Maintain accurate operational, customer, and billing information Assist with required financial and administrative processes Partner with senior site leadership on P&L management, budgeting, revenue, and profitability Support initiatives designed to improve overall site performance Qualifications 4-6+ years of progressive management and leadership experience within warehouse, distribution, transportation, logistics, or an industrial environment Proven experience leading warehouse associates and frontline Supervisors Strong ability to coach, train, mentor, and develop teams Experience managing labor, productivity, and operational performance Working knowledge of KPIs and performance metrics Experience managing budgets and interpreting P&L statements Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities Ability to effectively prioritize multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced, changing environment Strong interpersonal, communication, and customer relationship skills Intermediate proficiency with Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint Flexibility to support changing business needs, including weekends and holidays when necessary 3PL, warehousing, logistics, supply chain, or distribution center experience is strongly preferred. A bachelor's or associate degree is a plus; however, equivalent relevant leadership experience will be considered.
