Position Overview Hawkeye Hotels is seeking a Task Force Hotel General Manager to join our operations team and provide hands-on leadership across our multi-brand hotel portfolio. This is a 100% travel position. We are looking for a hotel leader who genuinely enjoys the challenge and variety of Task Force work and is comfortable spending extended periods away from home. Assignments may include leadership vacancies, hotel transitions, operational turnarounds, new leadership onboarding, performance challenges, or properties that simply need additional experienced leadership. Some assignments may last several weeks. Others may require multiple months on property to fully stabilize the operation. The expectation is that our Task Force leaders remain engaged until the assignment objectives are accomplished and the hotel is positioned for continued success. Our Task Force leaders are expected to leave the hotel better than they found it.

The Task Force Mindset Task Force leadership requires a different mindset than operating the same hotel every day. You may walk into a hotel where the GM position has been vacant, guest scores are struggling, staffing is unstable, standards have slipped, or the team simply needs leadership and direction. You need to be comfortable walking into that environment and asking: What needs to happen first? Then getting to work. The successful Task Force GM can build trust quickly without lowering expectations, separate symptoms from root causes, make difficult decisions when necessary, and bring structure to an operation without creating unnecessary disruption. Travel Expectations This position requires 100% travel throughout the United States.
Candidates should expect:

Candidates seeking limited travel or primarily local assignments will not be a fit for this position. Qualifications Minimum 3 years of progressive hotel management experience . Previous General Manager or AGM experience required . Operational proficiency with IHG, Marriott, and/or Hilton is required. Experience with more than one major hotel brand is strongly preferred. Strong understanding of hotel operations, guest satisfaction, labor management, P&L performance, forecasting, and brand standards. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Comfortable working independently and making decisions in rapidly changing environments. Ability to travel 100% of the time and remain away from home for extended assignments. Valid driver's license and ability to travel by automobile and commercial air. What Success Looks Like Success isn't measured by how many hotels you visit. It's measured by what condition they're in when you leave. A successful assignment means the hotel has stronger leadership, clearer expectations, improved operating discipline, better communication, fewer unresolved issues, and a sustainable plan for the permanent leadership team. We want Task Force leaders who can walk into uncertainty, create stability, build momentum, and then hand the hotel back stronger than they received it.
