The General Manager is responsible for leading and overseeing all logistics operations supporting a dedicated Lowe's account. This position is accountable for operational performance, contractor management, safety, customer service, financial results, and compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements. This role requires an engaged, hands-on leader who can communicate effectively, manage multiple priorities in a fast-moving environment, and maintain strong follow-up on operational needs. The General Manager will provide direction and development to managers and supervisors, oversee Independent Contractors, and act as a key point of contact for escalated operational and client concerns. Key Responsibilities Oversee day-to-day logistics operations, including dispatch, routing, field execution, and operational follow-up. Provide coaching, development, and direction to managers and supervisors to strengthen accountability, leadership, and operational coverage. Recruit, onboard, oversee, and retain Independent Contract Drivers assigned to the Lowe's account. Ensure drivers and contractors meet all client requirements, company policies, safety expectations, and applicable Federal, State, Local, and DOT regulations. Maintain clear and consistent communication with contractors regarding expectations, operational changes, performance, and compliance. Lead regular operational and contractor communications to promote alignment and awareness across the account. Effectively manage competing priorities and make timely decisions in a high-volume, time-sensitive environment. Ensure proper follow-up and resolution of service failures, operational concerns, corrective actions, and leadership commitments. Maintain a high level of professionalism and responsiveness across email, phone, and other forms of communication. Manage the review and resolution of claims involving property damage, product damage, and service-related concerns. Identify and implement opportunities to improve safety, service quality, productivity, contractor retention, and cost efficiency. Review operational data, routing, schedules, and performance metrics and provide recommendations to senior leadership. Maintain accountability for key performance measures, including on-time delivery, customer satisfaction, claims performance, safety results, and operating expenses. Collaborate with internal support teams, including Accounting, Human Resources, Safety, IT, Quality, and Administration. Serve as a primary escalation resource for significant operational matters and Lowe's service-related concerns. Qualifications Significant experience recruiting, managing, and retaining Independent Contract Drivers. Minimum of 5 years of experience managing employees within a logistics, transportation, or operational environment. Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field preferred. 10+ years of transportation, logistics, or supply chain experience, preferably involving a mid-to-large fleet. Experience in 3PL, last-mile delivery, or other time-sensitive transportation environments strongly preferred. Bilingual preferred. Demonstrated ability to lead teams, develop strong working relationships, and support continuous improvement. Strong organizational, communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
Pay:
$80,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
