Job Description
Indiana University Kokomo Chancellor Indiana University invites nominations and applications for the position ofChancellor, Indiana University Kokomo. The Chancellor exercises broad responsibility for all aspects of the campus' academic, financial, andadministrative dimensions, in coordination with the university administration and the other Indiana University regional campuses. IU seeksan energetic, student-focused, dynamic, ethical individual to lead and engage its faculty, staff, students, alumni, donors, and communityinto the campus' next chapter. The Chancellor reports to the Vice President for Regional Campuses, Ken Iwama, who reports to IU President,Pamela Whitten. One of the seven Indiana University campuses, IU Kokomo is a regional, public institution serving just over 2,900students at the undergraduate (~2,700) and master's (~200) levels with excellent academic and preprofessional programs across its fourschools. Kokomo's culture is rooted in its commitment to student access and opportunity, academic excellence, regional engagement, andinnovation. IU Kokomo is a key economic driver in the region, and its students, most of whom both hail from and remain in the region aftergraduation, continue to contribute enormously to the advancement of the region in every field and discipline. The Chancellor is theChief Executive Officer of Indiana University Kokomo and reports to the Vice President of Regional Campuses. The Chancellor works closelywith the Vice President and senior administration of Indiana University. On the Kokomo campus, the Chancellor's senior cabinet team includesthe Executive Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, Vice Chancellor of Advancement and Media & Marketing, the Assistant Vice Chancellor forEnrollment Management, the Assistant Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs, the Vice Chancellor for Finance, the Director of PhysicalFacilities, the Regional Chief Information Officer, and the Senior Advisor to the Chancellor. The Chancellor will lead IU Kokomo inadvancing its contributions to fulfilling the mission of Indiana University. In addition, the Chancellor will guide IU Kokomo in commitmentsto excellence in teaching and scholarship, student-centeredness, service learning, and engaged citizenship. The Chancellor will providestrong leadership in achieving current goals and establishing new and ambitious ones to move the campus forward. Strong candidateswill have a demonstrated record of leadership as an executive officer in a complex organization, preferably in higher education, including apassion for student success and community engagement. A deep knowledge and understanding of the academic mission and fundraising arestrongly preferred. Candidates should demonstrate strategic thinking and possess outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, becollaborative and creative, and able to articulate a vision to diverse audiences.
