Full Job Description Top-performing Used Car Managers:
if you know how to protect gross, drive PVR, control aging, develop people and turn a 200-unit operation into a more profitable business, Paul Miller Motor Company wants to speak with you. We are hiring an experienced, results-driven Used Car Manager to lead our approximately 150-unit Used Car Outlet in Lexington, Kentucky. This is not a role for someone who simply "manages the lot." It is a leadership opportunity for a proven operator who can desk deals, establish standards, make disciplined inventory decisions, build a high-performing sales team and create consistent departmental profitability. The Challenge A strong Used Car Manager should be able to walk into a 200-unit operation and immediately ask: Where is the gross? What is aging—and why? What is priced incorrectly? What needs to move now? Where are we losing money? Who is producing, who needs coaching and what standards need to change? How do we improve turn, PVR, volume and profitability at the same time? If those are the questions you already ask every day, this may be the platform you have been looking for. What You'll Lead You will be responsible for maximizing the performance of an established Used Car operation, including: Desking and structuring transactions to maximize PVR and gross profit Protecting gross while maintaining healthy volume and inventory turn Managing pricing, merchandising, marketability, aging and inventory discipline Leading an approximately 200-unit used-vehicle operation with urgency and accountability Recruiting, hiring, training, coaching and developing Sales Consultants Building a sales culture that is competitive, professional, data-driven and results-oriented Analyzing performance metrics and identifying opportunities before they become losses Partnering with Finance, Service and dealership leadership to improve total departmental performance Setting clear expectations, enforcing standards and leading from the front What This Role Isn't You will not be responsible for purchasing vehicles. This role is focused on what elite Used Car Managers do best: managing the operation, maximizing inventory performance, developing the team, protecting gross, and producing sustainable results. We are looking for someone who knows how to manage inventory, not merely react to it. Who We Want The right candidate has a documented track record of: High PVR and strong used-car gross performance Exceptional desking ability and deal structure Disciplined inventory turn, aging, pricing and market-based merchandising Leading, coaching and holding Sales Consultants accountable Driving profitable volume, not volume at the expense of gross Making smart decisions from data, market conditions and operational metrics Creating urgency without sacrificing professionalism or customer experience If you are already succeeding in a high-level Used Car leadership role, you know that changing dealerships takes more than a compensation conversation. You need the right inventory, the right platform, the authority to lead and the opportunity to make a measurable impact. Paul Miller Motor Company offers that opportunity. Why Paul Miller Motor Company Paul Miller Motor Company has served the Lexington community for more than 70 years.
