Summary The Assistant Store Manager is a key leadership partner to the Store Manager, responsible for supporting daily store execution, team leadership, and operational discipline while delivering a consistent BUD Experience. This role serves as Manager on Duty (MOD) during assigned shifts, making real-time decisions, supporting teammates, and ensuring the store operates safely, efficiently, and in full regulatory compliance. The Assistant Store Manager helps translate store priorities into consistent execution, reinforces selling behaviors and standards on the floor, and plays a critical role in developing team capability and bench strength aligned with the Strains of Success. Key Responsibilities Sales & Operational Excellence Support all daily store operations to ensure smooth, efficient, and compliant execution across every shift Serve as Manager on Duty (MOD) during assigned shifts, leading teams on the floor, addressing operational issues, and making real-time customer and business decisions Support store performance by reinforcing daily sales priorities, operational routines, and service standards. Assist with scheduling, payroll, and labor tracking to ensure coverage aligns with traffic patterns and business needs Execute opening and closing procedures including cash handling, inventory counts, safety checks, and daily reporting Reinforce selling behaviors, product knowledge, and service expectations to drive conversion, attachment, and basket growth Monitor sales trends, traffic patterns, and inventory levels, escalating opportunities and risks to the Store Manager Execute merchandising standards, promotional activations, and product education on the sales floor. Maintain and troubleshoot retail systems including POS, inventory platforms, and METRC, coordinating with support teams as needed Partner cross-functionally to support alignment across operations, inventory flow, marketing execution, and compliance standards Identify operational inefficiencies or customer experience opportunities and communicate recommendations to store leadership. Compliance & Inventory Control Ensure full compliance with all state and local cannabis regulations, company policies, and labor laws during assigned shifts Maintain accurate recordkeeping, inventory controls, METRC tracking, and required documentation Support internal audits, investigations, and discrepancy resolution by following and enforcing SOPs Reinforce compliance protocols, safety procedures, and regulatory requirements with teammates on the floor Support loss prevention efforts and protect inventory integrity through disciplined execution Team Leadership & Development Support the coaching, development, and performance management of store teammates through real-time feedback and reinforcement Lead by example, modeling Theory values, accountability, and professionalism at all times. Assist with onboarding, training, and ongoing development to ensure teammates are confident, knowledgeable, and customer-ready Help create a positive, engaged, and high-performing team culture aligned with the Strains of Success Provide input to the Store Manager on teammate performance, readiness, and development opportunities Customer Experience & Community Engagement Ensure every guest receives a welcoming, knowledgeable, and consistent BUD Experience Maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment that reflects brand and visual standards Support local marketing initiatives and community engagement activities as directed by store leadership Address customer questions, concerns, and escalations with professionalism and care Other Duties Perform additional responsibilities as assigned in a fast-paced, evolving retail and regulatory environment
