Assistant Manager

Job Summary:

We are seeking a motivated and dependable Assistant Store Manager to help lead the daily operations of our grocery store. This position is ideal for someone with retail or grocery experience who is ready to grow into a larger leadership role. The Assistant Manager will work closely with ownership and store leadership to oversee staff, ensure excellent customer service, manage inventory, and maintain smooth store operations. This role is designed as a manager-in-training opportunity , with the potential to transition into the Store Manager position as the business continues to grow.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist in overseeing daily store operations and ensuring the store runs efficiently Help supervise, train, and support store employees Provide excellent customer service and resolve customer concerns professionally Maintain well-stocked shelves, coolers, and displays with proper product rotation Assist with inventory management, ordering, and receiving deliveries Ensure accurate pricing, signage, and merchandising throughout the store Help manage employee scheduling and shift coverage Maintain store cleanliness, organization, and safety standards Assist with cash handling procedures and register operations Monitor product freshness and quality standards Support store growth and operational improvements Take on increasing leadership responsibilities with the goal of transitioning into a Store Manager role

Qualifications:

Previous grocery, retail, or convenience store experience preferred Supervisory or leadership experience strongly preferred Strong customer service and communication skills Ability to lead a team and motivate employees Organized and able to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment Reliable, dependable, and willing to take initiative Basic computer and retail system skills Ability to lift up to 40-50 lbs and stand for extended periods Flexible availability including evenings and weekends as needed
