An Automotive General Manager ensures the profitability of a dealership or other automotive service provider by overseeing various departments, possibly including variable operations (sales and financing), fixed operations (service and parts), and the business office (accounting and administration). Duties of the general manager include, but certainly not limited to, planning, motivating and coordinating the dealership's management through leadership and solid business practices.

Responsibilities Develop and maintain relationships with fleet managers, service shops, distributors, and other key customers. Identify sales opportunities and pursue new business through cold calls, site visits, and follow-up on leads. Present and promote products with a strong understanding of their features, benefits, and applications. Collaborate with internal departments (engineering, production, purchasing) to ensure customer satisfaction. Track customer activity, sales metrics, and market trends. Attend trade shows, ang get on the road as needed. Meet or exceed sales targets and contribute to company revenue and profit goals. Qualifications 8+ years of experience in business leadership and sales responsibility. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Proven ability to generate leads, close deals, and maintain long-term client relationships. Quick minded and open to new ideas and getting things done without bureaucracy.
