Credit Union Angott Search Group is partnering with a $1B Michigan credit union in the search for a Vice President of Lending to provide strategic leadership and oversight across the organization's lending operations. This executive will lead Consumer, Mortgage, and Commercial Lending, with responsibility for lending strategy, team development, portfolio performance, technology and process improvement, regulatory compliance, and overall growth.

Responsibilities:

Develop and execute a comprehensive lending strategy aligned with the credit union's strategic goals and member needs.

Lead Consumer, Mortgage, and Commercial Lending functions and oversee lending leadership and staff.

Establish department goals, performance standards, and operational priorities.

Oversee underwriting, processing, loan approvals, and lending operations.

Develop and mentor lending leaders and teams while fostering a strong member-focused culture.

Lead initiatives to improve lending technology, processes, and the overall member experience.

Evaluate and recommend new lending products and opportunities to expand lending programs.

Monitor industry trends, regulatory developments, credit risks, and competitive opportunities.

Manage relationships with secondary market partners and oversee loan sales as appropriate.

Partner with executive leadership and other departments to support lending products, promotions, and organizational growth.

Report lending performance and results to executive leadership and the Board of Directors.

Develop and manage the lending department budget.

Oversee lending-related vendor relationships, contracts, performance, and risk.

Ensure lending activities comply with applicable regulations, policies, lien laws, documentation requirements, and credit union standards.

Qualifications:

7-10 years of progressive lending and leadership experience.

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or a related field.

Strong experience across residential real estate lending, including first and second mortgages.

Knowledge of Consumer, Mortgage, and Commercial Lending.

Proven experience with the secondary market and selling/servicing loans.

Strong understanding of lending, collection, bankruptcy, lien, and loan documentation regulations.

Experience managing budgets and lending operations.

Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and develop high-performing teams.

Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to analyze financial information and make sound lending and business decisions. Job # 2378 Share
