Job Description

Lead a Hotel Where Guests Feel at Home Build your hospitality career in a role with real influence, meaningful visibility, and room to grow. At Staybridge Suites Lansing-Okemos, you'll help lead a team dedicated to creating the welcoming, comfortable experience extended-stay travelers value most. Located in the thriving Okemos community near East Lansing, Michigan State University, major employers, and the greater Lansing area, our hotel welcomes a diverse mix of business travelers, relocating families, university visitors, and guests staying for life's important moments. This is an opportunity to shape their experience—and to help shape the success of the entire property. Why This Opportunity Stands Out Take on a highly visible leadership role with a respected extended-stay hotel brand. Work in a supportive, team-centered environment where service, accountability, and professional growth matter. Gain hands-on experience across hotel operations, financial performance, sales support, guest relations, and team development. Build the skills and confidence needed for a long-term career in hospitality leadership. Make a difference every day for guests who depend on us for more than a room—they depend on us for a home away from home. Your Impact Will Be Felt Throughout the Hotel You'll serve as a trusted partner to the General Manager and a steady, motivating presence for the entire team. You will help ensure that every department operates with purpose, every guest interaction reflects genuine hospitality, and every team member understands how their work contributes to the hotel's success. Support the General Manager in leading daily hotel operations and achieving property goals. Maintain and elevate Staybridge Suites brand standards throughout the guest experience. Provide operational oversight across front desk, housekeeping, maintenance, breakfast, and other essential hotel functions. Lead by example, stepping in wherever needed to keep service seamless and the hotel running smoothly. Coach, train, mentor, and recognize team members while setting clear expectations and providing consistent feedback. Anticipate guest needs, resolve concerns with professionalism and urgency, and turn challenges into opportunities to build loyalty. Review financial, sales, labor, and performance data to identify opportunities for improvement and support profitable operations. Assist with local sales efforts and build strong relationships with key customers, businesses, and community partners. Help create an environment where associates feel valued, prepared, and proud to deliver exceptional service. The Leader We're Looking For You are energized by the pace and variety of hotel operations. You understand that great hospitality is equal parts preparation, follow-through, empathy, and leadership. You know how to bring out the best in people while keeping an unwavering focus on guest satisfaction and business results. A minimum of two years of hotel management experience with a demonstrated record of leadership. Strong knowledge of hotel operations, guest service standards, and competitive market dynamics. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. A proactive, goal-oriented approach with sound judgment and strong problem-solving ability. The flexibility to thrive in a fast-paced environment where no two days are alike. The ability to inspire, motivate, and develop a high-performing team. A genuine commitment to delivering the thoughtful, dependable service that keeps guests coming back. Build Something Meaningful in Okemos Okemos offers the best of both worlds: the warmth of a close-knit community and the energy of the Lansing-East Lansing market. Here, your leadership can make a lasting impression on guests visiting Michigan State, supporting local business, relocating to the region, or simply seeking the comfort of an extended stay. If you are ready to lead with purpose, develop your team, and take the next significant step in your hospitality career, we invite you to join us.
