Salary TBD (commensurate with experience) Position Overview We are seeking an experienced and entrepreneurial General Manager to lead the launch and early growth of a new aviation startup. This individual will be responsible for translating strategy into execution—overseeing day-to-day operations, assisting with regulatory compliance, staffing, and commercial performance as the company moves from pre-launch through initial operations and into expansion. Key Responsibilities- Operational Leadership
- Lead day-to-day company operations from pre-launch through revenue service
- Establish and manage operational processes across flight operations, dispatch, maintenance coordination, and customer experience
- Be primary company spokesperson
- Understand airport partners airline incentive programs
- Comfort with negotiating with airport CEO and air service development staff to secure key operational incentives in order to optimize operations.
- Assist with readiness for FAA operations and ongoing compliance at all stages
- Assist company leadership with compliance with FAA regulations, including applicable operating authority
- Coordinate with regulatory agencies, airports, vendors, and external partners
- Maintain required manuals, procedures, and internal controls
- People & Team Management
- Recruit, hire, and manage key operational and administrative staff
- Build a safety-focused, professional, and customer-oriented culture
- Establish clear performance expectations and accountability
- Financial & Commercial Oversight
- Manage budgets, operating costs, and financial performance
- Support pricing, service planning, and performance tracking
- Oversee vendor, insurance, and service agreements related to operational needs
Qualifications Required:
- 3-4+ years of experience in aviation or a tourism focused industry
- Strong working knowledge of aviation operations and compliance
- Proven experience managing teams and budgets
- Excellent communication and decision-making skills
Preferred:
- Experience with Part 135 or similar operations
- Background in aviation management or safety
