Job Description

Spanish Peaks is a private community situated on 3,500 acres nestled at 7,700 feet in stunning Big Sky, Montana. We are about 50 miles away from Bozeman, Belgrade, and West Yellowstone, MT SUMMARY The Assistant General Manager (AGM) is a key leadership role responsible for supporting the overall operations of Spanish Peaks Mountain Club. This position partners closely with the General Manager to ensure exceptional member experiences, operational excellence, and strong team engagement across all departments. The AGM serves as a visible, hands-on leader who drives service standards, supports department leaders, and ensures alignment with the Club's mission of delivering elevated, world-class hospitality.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Leadership & Culture Model and promote SPMC's values of kindness, humility, and respect in all interactions Provide daily leadership, coaching, and support to department heads and managers Foster a positive, high-performing culture focused on accountability and engagement Partner with the Director of People to support hiring, onboarding, performance management, and associate relations Operations Oversight Support and oversee day-to-day operations across all Club departments (F&B, Golf, Housekeeping, Member Services, etc.) Ensure consistency in service standards and operational execution across all outlets and amenities Assist in developing and implementing policies, procedures, and service standards Monitor operational performance and proactively address challenges Member Experience Act as a primary point of contact for member feedback, concerns, and service recovery Ensure a seamless and elevated member experience across all touchpoints Maintain a strong presence in Club spaces, engaging regularly with members and associates Partner with department leaders to continuously enhance the member experience Financial & Business Management Support budget development, forecasting, and financial performance across departments Monitor labor, expenses, and revenue trends to ensure alignment with business goals Identify opportunities to improve efficiency while maintaining service excellence Assist in driving revenue through programming, events, and service enhancements Strategic Initiatives & Projects Support key Club initiatives, including new amenity openings (e.g., Aspire) Lead or assist with cross-functional projects that enhance operations and member satisfaction Ensure successful execution of seasonal transitions and peak operational periods
QUALIFICATIONS
5-8+ years of progressive leadership experience in hospitality, private club, or resort operations Prior experience in a senior leadership role (Director, AGM, or similar) preferred Strong understanding of luxury service standards and member-driven environments Proven ability to lead, develop, and motivate teams in a fast-paced setting Financial acumen with experience managing budgets and operational performance Excellent communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills Ability to work flexible schedules, including weekends and holidays
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the Club, including indoor and outdoor environments Ability to navigate varied terrain, including stairs, uneven surfaces, and mountain conditions Ability to occasionally lift, carry, push, or pull up to 25 pounds Ability to bend, kneel, reach, and perform repetitive movements as needed Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions Ability to work in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, snow, and rain Ability to operate standard office equipment (computer, phone, etc.)
